Role Value Proposition:  Provides design and production support of communication plans for enterprise and departmental initiatives by creating multimedia solutions. Develop content for print ready, multi-media, desktop display, or projection materials. Builds and maintains templates for customer service communications.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Act as the primary designer on complex design projects with responsibility for developing high-quality conceptual design solutions for print and multimedia communications
  • Design and create new templates to meet business needs ensuring that all work adheres to department quality standards, MetLife’s visual identity standards and aligns with MetLife’s brand positioning
  • Maintain inventory of documents and make edits as necessary
  • Contribute to the development of creative briefs, reviews client business objectives and recommends appropriate creative solution
  • Solve communication problems with design, clearly organizing messages to align with business objectives
  • Represent creative team in presentation of preliminary work, internally and to clients
  • Set standards for typography, color, image and layout, etc., and oversee development of templates where necessary
  • Coordinate project-related activities of graphic designers and freelance artists,develop detailed vendor specifications and provide production direction to appropriate team members
  • Manage the closure of projects, ensuring all project assets are archived appropriately according to department best practices

Required Experience:

  •  5-7 years of work experience
  • Exemplary conceptual and visual design competencies with the demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas in a manner that is easily understandable
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to generate customer communications
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and apply critical and strategic thinking
  • Excellent command of formats, typography, graphics and layout
  • Understands components, cycle times and production/distribution requirements and can manage to project timelines


Preferred Experience:

  • Authoring and design experience with Document Content Management tools, Quadient and Documaker
  • BS/BA degree
  • Creative, positive, engaging, upbeat and can-do attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
