Compliance Risk Management (“CRM”) delivers a compliance risk framework that enables the businesses and functions to comply with applicable internal and external rules and regulations and maintain risk levels within MetLife’s risk appetite. CRM provides constructive challenge to the businesses and functions, partnering closely with them to implement strong processes and effective controls, as well as to foster and embed a culture of compliance. CRM is part of Global Risk Management (GRM) and maintains a matrixed reporting line to Legal Affairs.

 

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Head of Compliance Governance Frameworks, the Compliance Consultant is responsible for managing and coordinating Enterprise Compliance Programs (“ECP”) communications and supporting the development and delivery of global, mandatory compliance training for CRM associates. The role entails supporting the global CRM organization compliance risk management efforts.

 

This is an individual contributor role that requires an effective communicator and a proactive and process-oriented thinker, who can support large scale enterprise-wide efforts.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Create, maintain, and manage ECP documentation, including supporting the process for preparing Executive Management and Board meeting materials, presentations, and reports
  • Maintain ECP’s collaboration, communication and information sharing systems and tools
  • Facilitate ECP townhalls and coordinate associated materials
  • Support the development and ongoing implementation of a global mandatory Compliance Training Program; manage program SharePoint site and distribution of program communications; coordinate logistics including learning system, reporting, scheduling, and translation requests; reports on program participation and feedback
  • Coordinate annual training needs analysis and annual training plan facilitating input from local Compliance officers across the globe as well as Learning & Development
  • Partner with Compliance subject matter experts to create and execute online and live training; review proposed Compliance-sponsored training courses for the appropriate branding, consistency, and content; evaluate and leverage available learning technology tools; tailor training content and delivery methods to achieve the desired learning objectives
  • Consult with Compliance associates on training related inquiries; identify and escalate training-related issues and mitigation plans to the appropriate leadership teams
  • Manage special ECP projects as needed, coordinating with global stakeholders, tracking deliverables, and providing reporting to senior leadership
  • Demonstrate creative thinking and executional excellence that will include actively seeking out new, cutting-edge technology to further improve training and communications initiatives, and building efficiency
  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset and propose enhancements to the compliance risk management framework, leveraging data and technology, informed by industry standards and best practices
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture that embraces change and succeeds through both collaboration and individual accountability

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a compliance or risk management role
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently on multiple priorities
  • Strong follow-up skills and an appropriate sense of ownership and urgency
  • Cultural fluency and ability to work effectively with a diverse, global population
  • Skilled at analytical and creative thinking and problem solving
  • Strong customer focus and relationship building skills
  • Experience creating communication materials, presentations, and reports
  • Expertise in project management
  • Knowledge of learning, collaboration, social media, and/or survey tools and technology
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Knowledge of financial services a plus
