Role Value Proposition: 

The Methodology Manager reports to the Head of Professional Practices & Talent Resourcing within Global Audit Operations (GAO), supporting all aspects of reviewing, optimizing, and rolling out methodology and guidance in line with the IIA Standards for the Internal Audit Department.  This role liaises closely with the QA team and the Audit Talent Competencies Supervisor to roll out lessons learned and incorporate insights from our QAIP into audit methodology and support the development of Audit Committee materials and training needs relating to Methodology.


Key Responsibilities:  

  • Develops, reviews, refreshes, and maintains department guidance on audit methodologies and procedures.
  • Innovation and Thought Leadership – Drive innovation and optimization in our audit methodology and other audit practices by leveraging technology, capabilities, industry guidance (IIA best practices), and lean process techniques.
  • Training methodologies – identifies areas of training and delivers methodology training to department
  • Devises and implements actions (including lessons learned trainings and updates to guidance) to address key thematic areas for improvements identified in QAIP
  • Prepares any exhibits required for Audit Committee on QA and Methodology topics
  • Prepares and maintains case studies / good practice examples
  • Coordinates and facilitates any Professional Practices trainings, liaising closely with the Audit Talent Competencies Supervisor.
  • Assists with the preparation of responses to any Benchmarking surveys that the department chooses to engage in.
  • Facilitates responses to benchmarking surveys on behalf of the department and conducts research on certain topics as needed to guide best practices and compliance with IIA standards for the department.
  • Monitors and responds to methodology queries submitted on IA Request form ensuring questions are answered and guidance is provided timely, as needed.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Ability to coordinate and facilitate professional practices trainings; demonstrate executive presence in presentations
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel
  • Strong analytical, deductive, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including interpersonal and presentation skills



  • Internal/External Audit experience
  • Undergraduate degree is required, preference for Business, Finance, or Human Resource Management
  • Knowledge of Tempus, or other resource management tools, IBM OpenPages, and Microsoft Power BI
