Role Value Proposition: 

Controls, Analysis and Reporting (CAR) is primarily responsible for ensuring the fair, accurate, and timely reporting of MetLife’s financial results on both a GAAP and statutory basis. In this role on the Separate Accounts Operations team, you will partner closely with other MetLife teams as well as external parties such as Fund Companies in order to provide accurate and timely trading for the Separate Accounts portfolio.  In addition, the role is responsible to provide accurate and timely daily Separate Accounts reconciliation and ad-hoc tasks. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete trading responsibilities including daily creation of trade tickets and wire instructions.
  • Communicate with Fund Companies on a daily basis and meeting required Service Level Agreements for all variable annuities and variable life held within the Separate Accounts portfolio.
  • Perform and analyze various Separate Account reconciliation reports.
  • Works with reporting requirements and guidelines of SEC for preparation of annual Separate Accounts Financial Statements and other filings.
  • Responsible for seeking out process improvements, ongoing initiatives and projects and communication with management on progress of such items.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • 1-3 yrs financial reporting and or accounting experience.
  • Must start work day at 7AM EST to meet trading deadlines with external Fund Companies.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently, ability to handle multiple tasks and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Highly proficient in Excel.

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong organizational skills including problem solving, attention to detail, analytical thinking and decisiveness.
  • Familiarity of Fund Companies and knowledge of Mutual Fund Investments.
