Role Overview:

The Sales Director for our DCIO channel plays a leadership role in two primary areas: (1) identifying and delivering new business sales and (2) deepening the relationship of our current customers to grow assets under management over time. This candidate MUST be on the West Coast. 


Specifically, this role requires understanding and drive in the following areas:

  • B2B selling best practices – tactics, tools, event/conference strategy, social media, etc.
  • Prospect and customer segmentation and targeting
  • Opportunity sizing
  • Buyer / sales journey mapping to define optimal touchpoints
  • Definition of needed sales enablement materials that improve measured performance


Part of our Stable Value product suite are Collective Investment Trusts (CIT) that offer the same benefit and cost efficiencies available to large-plan sponsors, but in a commingled separate account product. This income-producing, low-risk investment option consistently outperforms both money market funds and inflation while providing a guarantee of principal and interest, thus making it the premier capital preservation solution.

To be effective in the role, you need to be hands-on in daily selling but also adept in setting an overall sales strategy that leads to consistent and long-term sales growth in your region. You’ll also need to be a natural collaborator that can leverage MetLife and partner resources to move things forward quickly and efficiently for collective success.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Work with financial advisors, TPA’s, recordkeepers and plan consultants in a defined territory to drive new business sales and retention of DCIO trust partner stable value collective trust solutions.
  • Promote in market other MetLife issued stable value solutions such as TDF offerings, direct separate account contracts and GIC’s/Funding Agreements.
  • Build partnerships, monitor performance against defined key results, and seek improvement opportunities 

Experience and Education:


  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Proficient knowledge of supported products/markets and selling/servicing techniques
  • Ability to work independently and to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Strong organizational skills including time and resource management
  • Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Effective relationship building capabilities
  • State Insurance Licenses and Series 6 and 63 required within 6 months of hire.


  • Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred; advanced degree is a plus
  • Qualified Retirement Plan sales experience desired
  • Stable Value experience preferred

The wage range for applicants for this position is $100,000-120,000. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation.
