Senior Project Lead

Location: Raleigh/Cary, NC or Clarks Summit, PA

Hybrid role:  3 days in office, 2 days work from home

 

Job Summary:   This position is responsible for a wide range of IT functions supporting Retail Life and Annuity IT and Business teams.   The candidate will be responsible for managing IT related projects, oversight of communication plans, and act as a liaison between Retail IT and Enterprise teams to lead activities on mixed matrix projects.  This individual will leverage their experience to execute and deliver projects and programs that are aligned with business needs.  The role requires extensive collaboration with various IT teams throughout the organization.

 

Functional Responsibilities: 

  • Leads planning, organizing, and implementing of large and/or complex application delivery projects. 
  • Manages medium and/or large application delivery projects. 
  • May act as program manager on multiple project activities. 
  • Follows approved SDLC and project management methodology, ensuring that all required steps are followed, all required deliverables are produced, and all approvals are obtained. 
  • Accountable for directing work effort of staff assigned to project or program. 
  • Owns project/program issue resolution and risk management. 
  • Manages and oversees the full system development process, and turnover to production. 
  • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project planning, tracking and analysis. 
  • Maintains regular contact with clients. 
  • Coordinates and reports on project progress and accomplishments. 
  • Provides technical and analytical support and guidance to project team members. 
  • Assists in developing vendor statements of work, deliverables, and Service Level Agreements. 
  • Performs related duties as assigned or requested.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

Lead project staff members. 

Project staff members may span multiple functions and teams. 

Provides input to management on staff performance. 

Reviews work products from team and vendor consultants.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience in IT function with focus on project management, change management, delivery, support
  • Outstanding presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working in a large organization and ability to work across diverse remote teams and build effective relationships
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and other project management related tools
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines
  • Extensive knowledge of project management practices
  • Experience in production support, application development, infrastructure or technology operations
  • Understanding of organizational development and/or change management methodology
  • Flexible, agile and adaptable to change
