Role Value Proposition: 

This role is a management level technical leader and people manager on the Application Maintenance and Support (AMS) team responsible for testing within the LatAm portfolio and fostering a testing service center of excellence. Testing center of excellence is accountable for implementing and continually refreshing of our strategic tools roadmap to achieve MetLife’s Digital strategy. Tasked with all software testing, MetLife AMS is looking for a driven hands-on technical leader with strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to collaboratively work with global teams.  This is a technical position where you will be working within a fast-paced, agile environment, partnering closely with various technology teams and Program Managers to deliver high quality software solutions. This role will play a key part in collaborating with the team who delivers testing services for programs varying in complexity and helping to build, maintain, streamline and consolidate existing manual and automated testing strategies/frameworks while designing and building innovative testing strategies.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Provides leadership and direction for the Testing service within AMS organization
  • Motivates the team and build partnerships across the broader organization, setting the tone for a culture of Quality
  • Manage a team of test engineers that provide expertise and tactical delivery of the tools, best practices and specialized testing services in our roadmap used by the test delivery team
  • Provide technical expertise on areas such as: test automation, test data management, service virtualization, digital/mobile testing, test management, big data/analytics, performance and security
  • Ensure automation tools meet requirements and are used in a mature, efficient means by our teams and partners.  Lead the way to implement and ingrain automation enablers, e.g. test data management, service virtualization, security and environmental readiness.
  • Encourage a culture where associates are motivated to identify and enable changes to enhance the effectiveness of test strategies and tools. Participate on significant application delivery programs to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of our tooling solutions. Drive standardization across the test organization and ensure continuous process and test engineering improvements in test automation and related areas
  • Promote a DevOps culture, including building relationships with other technical and business teams.
  • Full people management responsibility including hiring, firing, promotions, performance and compensation management, training and development for associates
  • Performs related duties as assigned or requested.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Experience implementing continuous delivery via automation and related capabilities
  • Ability to advocate for our vision through strong relationships built and maintained with stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills to discuss and present strategy to audiences of varying experience and accountability across the broader organization
  • Strategic thinking with strong execution capabilities
  • High degree of comfort with ambiguity
  • Experience working in DevOps or Agile delivery models
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, dynamic environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and international cultural awareness
  • Experience working with offshore teams and vendor delivery partners
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of systems development, software quality assurance and testing experience.
  • 2+ years of personnel management experience. 
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

 

Preferred:

  • ASE, CSM or SSM, PMP, CSTE / MBT  certified
  • Finance/Insurance industry experience
  • Experience in integrating Test Data Management processes and exposure tools like Optim, Delphix, Test Data Manager
  • Experience with Bamboo, Jira, HP Quality Center, Selenium, TestNG, HP UFT, TaskTop, Soap UI, Perfecto, Java, JavaScript, UCD, Jenkins, HP Performance Center, Jmeter
  • Experience with Veracode, Qualys, or similar quality scanning software
  • Experience with technology eco system that supports end to end micro services architecture, such as API’s, message queues, containers, service registry/discovery
  • Strong knowledge of Big Data applications testing methodologies, process and tools
  • Experience working on cloud implementation/migration programs
  • Portuguese, is a plus
