Role Value Proposition

The Business Systems Analyst will act as liaison between business partners, business analysts, application development and testing support teams. Responsible for eliciting, refining, documenting, reviewing and translating business requirements into artifacts that assist in building software applications that meet business needs. An innovative thinker in an AGILE & Dev Ops Methodology environment to provide technical guidance concerning the business implications of application development projects, to meet project goals


Key Responsibilities

• Lead development of functional requirements and design documentation, facilitates testing and training.

• Gathers, reviews, analyzes, and evaluates user needs. Involved in planning very complex BSA efforts for projects.

• Act as a primary SME liaison between business users/BAs and IT project team, Provides technical and work guidance to a team of BSA’s, Consultants and/or off shore resources.

• Manage user expectations and requirements scope

• Lead requirements elicitation and definition

• Leads fit/gap analysis of functional requirements

• Facilitate functional requirements walkthroughs and respond to Test team ambiguity review questions

• Lead functional documentation design (use cases, functional specifications, reports, screen prototypes)

• Work closely with Project Manager, architects, developers, Test team, business users/BAs and applicable outside entities (vendors and others)

• Develops user guides, reference manuals, training materials and code release artifacts as appropriate

• Actively participates in change management activities

• Works with Project Manager to ensure compliance to System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

• Provides estimates for BSA work efforts on new projects and for on-going forecasting

• Fulfills SOX and other compliance requests.

• Interacts with senior management.

• Performs other duties as assigned or required


Required Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field, or equivalent work experience.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as, demonstrated professionalism.

• Significant Software Development Life Cycle knowledge and experience, or comparable methodologies.

• An understanding of IT documents including Use Cases, FRDs, UAT scenarios, and Architecture with ability to define correlations/traceability to requirements, processes and testing documents

• Microsoft Suite of Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio (or other design tools)

• Highly organized.

• Strong communication skills

• Operate under minimal supervision, individually or as part of a team.

• 5+ years of related work experience.

• Fluent Spanish language proficiency

• Advanced English language proficiency


Preferred Experience

• Insurance or financial services industry Knowledge/Experience

• Experience with requirements management and collaboration tools (Blueprint, iRise or equivalent)

• Experience working in an Agile and DevOps environment (AGILE Certification)

• Experience working with offshore teams

• Portuguese language skills
