Summary:  

The Feature Level Test Lead will represent the business and be accountable for validating developed solutions within the ART Team(s) ensuring they meet the business needs.  They will be responsible for planning and execution of all Cross Team Feature Level testing within the ART through the definition of done, inclusive of one up one down testing and end to end testing efforts, ensuring defined success criteria is met with an automation first mindset enabling continuous execution before and after releases.  This role will also assist in ensuring release readiness through completion of Team testing activities, participation in Epic and Capability Level test planning and execution, and contributions to release checkout preparations.  This role will review scope materials, work with Development and Testing partners as well as Product Management Associates and Subject Matter Experts to conduct test planning meetings, document and communicate testing plans for Features as well as manage and report progress of the execution of the plan through completion. 

 

The Feature Level Test Lead is an analytical thinker with business process and system testing knowledge, and the ability to interpret this knowledge into business scenarios, data needs and testing plans. Through team interactions and deliverables, you understand the User Stories, Features and Epics that the ART is trying to deliver to the business and ensure the features are properly validated within the Team(s). Leveraging test management and relationship management skills, you bring the right partners to the table from technology, product, business, operations, and other areas, and ensure the timelines for test planning and execution are met.  Being you are the most familiar with the testing efforts of what is being released in production, you will be responsible for preparations for release checkout plans including defining validation areas, types of data and resource plans.

 

As a Feature Level Test Lead, you partner directly with the agile team, gaining an understanding of the vertical end-to-end solution, a deep understanding of your team’s deliverables and contributions to the overall solution and the direct impacts to the business. You proactively identify and address risks, being empowered to drive the right conversations and the right work.  

 

A Feature Level Test Lead is: 

  • Detail oriented, creating the appropriate feature and Epic level test plans for their team(s)
  • Focusing on feature and epic level test execution with a calculated mindset, always driving to ensure delivery of what is best for the customer 
  • Supporting the Product Owner, as they build out the appropriate PI Plan for each scheduled release 
  • Driving results by setting goals and holding themselves and the team accountable for improved performance, exceptional results and high standards

             Able to build strong working relationships across business and technology to drive coordination, collaboration and work through escalations as needed

A Feature Level Test Lead’s fixation on quality is evident when they: 

  • Focus on a consultative interaction around the defects being identified, the analysis, cause and impact of issues, prioritization and providing options to the business 
  • Document and arrange test scenarios and scripts into prioritized plan of execution, helping to validate and build confidence in higher ranked business areas sooner
  • Ensure proper operational readiness, including test execution completion and contributions to release checkout plans, prior to feature release Flex testing focus on areas that are available to them to test when slippage in development or blockers prohibit progress against their existing plans. 
  • Ensure the team has a healthy inventory of test data to work with and understands the data’s connection across all testing areas it is tied to. 

 

A Feature Level Test Lead champions Lean and reduces waste when they: 

  • Advocate for the business, reducing the amount of time required from the business SMEs 
  • Raise risks to testing plans and dependencies that may create impediments down the line, solutioning next steps to overcome  

 

A Feature Level Test Lead leads by example when they: 

  • Act and think holistically, presenting themselves as a talent pool for new ART Test Leads 
  • Provide feedback to other Team Test Leads on areas to improve effectiveness of testing (ie. Test data management, dependency planning, automation buildout)

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

The Work: 

 

  1. Gather scope and document the test plan details of Features and Epics, refining them down into actionable test scenarios, data and scripts for execution across teams
  1. Act as the overall test lead for the ART ensuring all test execution for Features and Epics are completed, defects are managed to closure or agreed to be aligned to future work efforts and the success criteria for what is planned to be delivered is met ensuring the end solution will align with the intended customer experience 
  1. Liaise with the agile team members, acting as the business test lead for the ART with testing partners 
  1. Ensure proper release checkout plans are documented and communicated to partner areas in preparation for release activities
  1. Provide Release Checkout support to RTEs with regards to managing the checkout plan and reporting on its progress

 

The Interactions: 

 

  1. Support and provide guidance to the Team Test Lead as you build out the test plan details of each feature and epic which reside within each team or go across teams due to dependencies
  1. Partner with Release Train Engineers and other team members to ensure release checkout plans are built and communicated as well as execution is adhered to, and results are documented for each planned release. 
  1. Manage expectations with partners, and ensure timely delivery of all artifacts required 
  1. Provide feature and Epic level testing details to the agile technology team

The wage range for applicants for this position is 55k-74K.  This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation.
