MetLife is seeking a Payroll Tax Specialist to join our US Payroll operations team. The Payroll Tax Specialist role is focused on continuous improvement, customer service, accountability, and will work closely with partners in maintaining and improving operational effectiveness and supporting our periodic, quarterly, and annual business requirements in Oracle’s HCM cloud system. Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs a wide variety of tasks related to payroll processing activities
  • Complete various tasks associated with payroll tax processing and reporting
  • Review all employee resident/ work address changes and determine all associated tax changes (state, SUI, local) and assist with updating profiles accordingly
  • Investigate and resolve questions and problems on a timely basis
  • Determine and correct out of balance conditions of employee records
  • Maintain continuous level of engagement across all team member and stakeholders


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • Payroll processing proficiency
  • Payroll tax proficiency
  • Understanding of payroll related regulations and practices
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and complex problem-solving skills
  • Strong Excel Skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of payroll related regulations and practices
  • Able to participate in high performing, collaborative virtual teams
  • Self-motivated, focused, innovative, team-orientated
  • Flexible and adaptable in changing business environment
  • 3-5 years of relevant payroll experience required



  • Oracle HCM Cloud experience preferred
  • In-house payroll experience strongly preferred

The wage range for applicants for this position is $49,700 to $66,200. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. MetLife offers a comprehensive benefits program, including healthcare benefits, life insurance, retirement benefits, parental leave, legal plan services and paid time off.
