We are actively hiring a Claims Reviewer in our Call Center for our Group Life Insurance team in our Oriskany, NY office!! As a Claims Reviewer, you will receive in-bound customer service inquiries via the telephone from policyholders, beneficiaries, attorneys and families of the deceased employee and resolve problems by putting customers at the heart of all you do. The calls you handle will be in response to a claim already initiated on the insured’s life insurance policy.

With an understanding of the customers’ needs and wants, and a focus on delivering solutions that meet those needs, you will deliver a service experience that exceeds expectations and makes it easy for customers to do business with us.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Virtual Role, this is predominately a work from a home role with periodic visits to the assigned GCSO office as needed for team events, meetings, training, business continuity, etc.
  • Respond to customer requests via telephone, providing excellent service to inquiries related to Group Life Claim insurance benefits.
  • Enhance and strengthen the relationship between the customer and MetLife using strong communication skills, keen listening skills and empathy.
  • Efficiently access and navigate multiple electronic systems to provide a complete and integrated response to the customer’s inquiry.
  • Perform these responsibilities in a consistent, professional manner while exercising strong interpersonal and high-quality service skills.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • 1+ year customer service experience. 
  • High School diploma, GED
  • New hires should live a commutable distance from the site the role is posted in
  • Report daily to our Oriskany, NY office for in person training during the period of November 6, 2023 to December 4, 2023.  The position will move to virtual after successful completion of training.
  • Ability to work an 8-hour shift during the hours of operation of 8:00AM – 8:00PM Monday – Thursday and 8:00AM – 6:00PM Friday; must be flexible regarding overtime & shift worked after training, which may change based on business needs. Hours during training are 8AM – 4:30PM
  • A designated, quiet work area, for your Virtual Role will be needed on your start date.



  • Some college experience, trade, or professional certification.

The wage range for applicants for this position is $42,600.  This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation.
