Responsibilities:

 

  1. Manage and lead development and ongoing enhancements and of new insurance products and insurance value stream capabilities as well as customer services that are built out of core Policy Admin System
    • Manage project risks & escalate project issues to Head of IT, Steering Committee & Functional Business Heads
    • Stakeholder management and regular internal as well as external engagement in alignment and needs assessment; timelines as well as development budget constraints.
    • Manage and plan budget requirement and expense in completing the project
    • Understand business objectives and priorities, direct and provide clear guidance to the team to ensure all conflicting business priorities are addressed
    • Manage the completion and correctness of documentation -  project charter, risks log, issues log and  all systems development documentation including but not limited to users requirements specification, systems design, unit / integrated test plans, progress reports to Head of IT and Steering Committee
    • Enforce full compliance to software development life cycle and application change controls as well as source code version control
       
  2. Maintain day to day running of MetLife’s Core Policy Administration System
    • Manage Policy Administration Development overall budget including headcount and licensing as well as total cost of ownership
    • Service availability, Performance Management, Capacity Management and Incident Management.
    • Continuous improvement
    • Yearly Disaster Recovery Activities and RTO as well as RPO review and improvements
    • Work closely with IT operations teams to ensure that operational procedures (runbook) for production & DR systems to be developed and kept up to date, production services would meet agreed SLA with both internal and external users
    • Work closely with Operations and Compliance to ensure detection of fraudulent activities are rapidly reported and necessary investigations supported
       
  3. Effectively hire, lead, coach, develop and manage the team members consisting of internal FTEs, contractors and vendors in delivering results that meets organizational.
    • This includes annual performance review, resource capacity management, training management, recruitment and onboarding as well as disciplinary actions where required
    • Manage both internal and external project resources as well as ensure that deliverables conform to standards and pre-established SLAs.
    • Reinforcement and cascade of MetLife values, corporate agenda, goals and targets
    • Manage contractual renewal of contractors and vendors as well as salary and service value negotiations
       
  4. Plan roadmap of ongoing improvement in capabilities and lead execution towards realization of capabilities consisting of the following but not limited to:-
    • Policy data model, data consistency, cleanliness, policy data definition standards and master data management of customer, policy and product data.
    • Integration capabilities and Message queuing of integration requests from front end systems as well as ancillary systems
    • New digital insurance capabilities extension including enhancement of policy administration capabilities  via integration or augmentation to include
    • Awareness of DXC integral life solution architecture and product roadmap to further uncover better value from the vendor used
    • Automated testing, regression and automation of routine policy administration tasks via Robotics Process Automation or relevant automation tooling
    • Batch management and optimization of data transfers to data replication, including maintaining scheduling and impact analysis of batch relationships
    • Capacity and Application Performance Management of end to end policy administration systems and life cycle including availability management and Disaster Recovery failover
    • Contract and Scope negotiations with vendors and partners
       

Requirements:

  1. Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or related disciplines (optional)
  2. Experience in technical migration of DXC LifeAsia AS400 to Open systems or Java version of DXC Integral Life highly valued
  3. 12-15 years of experience in IT Systems Development with at least 3 years in senior project management role, with proven track records in Insurance or Financial Services industry.
  4. At least 3 years of application development experience on LifeAsia/Integral Life; prior experience on iLife and/or LSP a plus
  5. Knowledge of AS400 (important), Wintel, MS /SharePoint and Web-based technologies. Familiarity of DXC product suite and licensing model
  6. Highly responsible, willing to contribute extra effort and time to meet tight project schedule
  7. Good knowledge in SDLC processes and procedures, change management and problem determination.
  8. Experience in Agile development, Product Ownership, Scrum and Sprint cycles is exceptionally helpful
  9. Strong analytical, interpersonal, supervision and problem solving skills
  10. A good team player, leader with good attitude and willingness to learn
  11. Good command of English, Cantonese and Mandarin
