Position Summary


Particular focus of the role involves supporting Assets Modelling Group (AMG) which (is):

  • Responsible for the modelling and production of asset cashflows for annual (sometimes quarterly) Cash Flow Testing Results (as per US Statutory Rules and Regulations); annual Loss Recognition Testing (as per US GAAP) and Embedded Value
  • Responsible for analysis of asset metrics like Internal Rate of Return, Duration, Credit Spreads etc.
  • Responsible for modelling of sectors like Bonds, Equity, Derivatives and other Structured Finance assets through platforms like Prophet ALS, VBA, Python
  • Explain results to the stakeholders and logical answer to questions raised by Appointed Actuary with deep understanding of business economics
  • Support in specification and validation of new valuation methodologies and Prophet model releases
  • Develop strong working relationships and strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction;

Assist Actuarial Reporting Manager to support the stakeholders and ensure critical focus on core deliverables throughout the course of the reporting year

Job Responsibilities


AMG team manages asset modelling & analysis for the whole US general account portfolio, separate account and MetLife's replicating portfolios as well as provide asset modeling solutions to MetLife’s businesses world-wide. The team supports US GAAP Loss Recognition Testing, Cash Flow Testing, Embedded Value Reporting as well as RBC calculations for US market. These are the main job responsibilities:



  • Timely and accurate delivery of the projected asset cashflows and balances (like Book Values, Market Values)
  • Timely and accurate analysis of interest rate scenarios, spreads, defaults etc. and their impact on asset cashflows
  • Explanation of variance between reported results and previous quarters/years;
  • Error free, clear communication of results via reporting templates, memos, reports or presentations.
  • Staying updated with changes in US-GAAP and Statutory guidelines on a regular basis


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of Position:


  • Error free delivery of projected asset results to liability testers within required timescales and relevant actuarial standards;
  • Execution of second-line data validation and completeness checks to required actuarial and audit standards.
  • Contributing towards good team morale and positive team engagement and professional development.
  • Ensuring excellent communication between Noida-based team and stakeholders based in US

Taking demonstrable ownership of work; clearly flagging any issues and goal delivery concerns to senor leadership team.


Essential experience, skills and competencies:


  • Research into Asset-Liability modelling intricacies and able to validate system results through own logics
  • Meticulous in the validation, presentation and communication of results;
  • Respectful of deadlines, discipline and process, yet flexible and pragmatic within a growing business;
  • Capable of working with a team, and of balancing own initiative with advice from others;
  • Able to navigate through complex problems and structures to achieve results and deliver solutions;
  • Capability of dealing with large data-sets
  • Recent practical experience of financial / actuarial modelling systems (MG-ALFA, Prophet, etc.);

Excellent Excel, SQL and VBA skills. (Python knowledge would be a plus)



A bachelors or masters university degree in Finance or quantitative field




  • 5-7 years of actuarial experience in Life Insurance industry, preferably knowledge of US markets.

Cleared 10-12 actuarial exams from IAI/IFoA
