Position Summary



This position is located within the Analytics and Business Intelligence group, which provides actionable and advanced reporting & BI reporting solutions to support MetLife Business operations and strategy.  The incumbent would work as part of this team to support the Cognos and projects in traditional BI tools.


Job Responsibilities



  1. Ability to work with BI reporting platforms like Cognos
  2. Extensive experience in creating Cognos reports using IBM Cognos suite
  3. Experience in metadata modeling using Framework Manager
  4. Performed tuning & support for existing BI application and tools
  5. Knowledge to develop visualizations, dashboards using multiple BI tools
  6. Understand and analyze Business requirements accurately and provide optimum solution to meet functional and performance requirement
  7. Experience in SQL scripting and reporting analysis
  8. Participate in overall architecture and strategy for the deployment of BI applications


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities




  • Bachelor’s degree (Any Stream) or diploma with a minimum of 15 years of education



  • Total experience of 4-6 years


Knowledge and skills (general and technical)

  • Hands on experience in any of the BI reporting tools
  • Expertise in IBM Cognos reporting platform
  • Knowledge of SQL queries
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good Analytical, problem solving skills
  • Ability to establish priorities and handle multiple assignments concurrently with minimal direction in an evolving, fast paced work environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Self-disciplined and results oriented
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with various levels of management, including translating complex ideas and data into actionable steps for business units
