This newly created role is critical to bringing the marketing vision to life.

 

The Position

The head of Marketing Operations, Channels and Analytics is accountable for setting the strategic direction for MarTech, Digital Operations, & Data and Analytics. This role will provide expertise in channel strategies, platforms and tools required to drive marketing performance. Leveraging marketing technology and data & analytics this role will create capabilities that drive business value. This role will be accountable for driving efficiency and effectiveness of execution and increase the sophistication of our engagement with customers. 

 

Key Relationships

▪ Reports to: SVP Customer Experience, Marketing Performance, Ops and Regional Marketing

▪ Key Stakeholders: Chief Marketing Officer, Heads of Regional Marketing – EMEA, Asia, LATAM, Head of Group Benefits Marketing, Head of MIM Marketing, Head of RIS Marketing, Regional and Business Unit Leaders, Data and Technology organizations

 

Key Responsibilities

This role is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Marketing Technology, Digital Operations, Data & Analytics.  Responsibilities include:

 

  • Support the global CMO developing and managing a modern, data-driven, customer-centric, performance-oriented marketing organization
  • Develop our marketing operations and marketing technology organization and manage teams across martech, digital operations, data & analytics
  • Help establish and manage a set of standards and a structured approach to data and martech solutions-architecture, business case development, business and use case requirements, technology requirements, funding, and implementation
  • Collaborate with our technology partners on implementation, configuration, and customization of all marketing technology to improve customer experiences
  • Manage execution and operations capabilities across digital channels including web, apps, and email, to ensure seamless delivery of experiences
  • Collaborate with CX and channel activation teams, and business stakeholders to help ensure alignment between strategic priorities and business objectives and marketing’s ability to deliver capabilities that fulfill the use cases that represent the biggest value to the organization
  • Develop a world class data and analytics capability to ensure tracking and measurement of all full-funnel marketing activities and investments, and to develop a creative measurement framework that spans across hard and soft marketing KPIs to ensure accountability of the entire marketing spend
  • Help shape the Agile Marketing operating model, including structuring and staffing pods with resources, evolving Agile Marketing practices, playbooks, and the OKR and performance management process
  • Contribute to knowledge management, workflow, and operational excellence
  • Coach and train teams on advanced subject matter topics and career development
  • Provide thought leadership and inspiration internally and externally to attract and retain key talent and contribute to creating a culture and DNA of a modern, performance orientated marketing organization

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s required. Advanced degree preferred
  • 15+ years of experience leading martech and marketing operations of websites, digital products, apps, email and social media.
  • 10+ years of experience of with digital marketing production and program management, leading regional and global campaigns and programs that use agile marketing efforts.
  • 5+ years of experience with Adobe digital cloud solutions.
  • 5+ years of building and managing data, analytics, and marketing intelligence efforts
  • Professional experience creating and optimizing Marketing Automation for a large, multi-audience organization
  • Proven track record solving marketing and business problems with structured application of technology and process
  • Proven track record of optimization of customer experience to drive better business outcomes with new business or cross sell efforts.
  • Deep understanding of what a world class martech stack looks like
  • General understanding of marketing technology workflows, interoperability, challenges and solutions
  • Deep understanding of the marketing vendor ecosystem – tech companies and agencies
  • Proven track record managing marketing budgets
  • Experience with structured marketing planning

The wage range for applicants for this position is $219,500 to $292,700. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock based long-term incentives. MetLife offers a comprehensive benefits program, including healthcare benefits, life insurance, retirement benefits, parental leave, legal plan services and paid time off. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
