Role Value Proposition: 

This is a newly created, highly visible position on the Global Talent Acquisition (GTA) team that will take the lead in creating and standing up a refreshed diversity talent strategy. The GTA organization is comprised of a team of highly skilled recruitment professionals as well as an RPO partner, who will work collaboratively on talent pipeline development across MetLife to enhance existing practices for greatest talent impact and outcomes.


Reporting to the Head of Global Talent Acquisition, the individual in this role will be a subject matter expert on how diversity and inclusion practices are reflected throughout the talent life cycle. They will work in partnership with the Talent Acquisition team and with other key internal and external stakeholders to advise on the ways to enhance MetLife’s talent diversity strategy. This is an important influencing role to bring an even greater focus to our senior talent attraction, relationship-building and strategic pipeline management capabilities as part of the broader MetLife Talent Strategy.  Success in this role is to develop and implement innovative strategies to identify, attract, and engage diverse talent to achieve sustainable hiring and retention outcomes. This will include a refreshed diversity talent strategy tied to our corporate brand messaging and Employee Promise.  The successful candidate will assess our talent attraction and engagement processes and operations, in particular as relates to unbiased interviewing and candidate experience, referral cultivation, relationship and pipeline-building. They will be instrumental in driving transformative talent attraction and development capabilities beginning with the front end of the talent life cycle.


Key Responsibilities:  

  • Work in collaboration with the GTA and D&I Leadership to refresh the global talent attraction diversity strategy by staying connected to innovative workforce diversity, recruitment tools and best practices.
  • Analyze talent data to determine areas of opportunity and to improve diversity and inclusion practices across attraction and hiring processes.
  • Act as a strategic Talent scout to develop and mobilize attraction and engagement strategies in support of key talent and transformational needs, ensuring diverse, high-potential candidate slates.
  • Promote and understand the internal and external landscape for diverse talent and the perception of the MetLife Brand and our Employee Promise.
  • Lead and influence talent decisions based on expert knowledge of business, external market and candidate capabilities. 
  • Bring forward talent diversity best practices while ensuring talent acquisition plans align with MetLife’s overall talent management strategies and leadership model.
  • Partner with Corporate Communications and Employer Brand team to ensure use of inclusive language and promote our diversity hiring practices in all marketing attraction materials.
  • Identify key opportunities related to emerging Talent and Diversity Staffing trends and best practices.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • 10+ years of experience, with demonstrated success in creating and executing senior level diversity talent sourcing and attraction and development strategies.
  • Deep, established networks and D&I resources to leverage.
  • Data driven, able to analyze complex data sets and translate relevant internal and external market information into clear and achievable goals and KPIs.
  • Agile mindset coupled with demonstrative success in developing, driving and executing talent sourcing and acquisition strategies using innovative and cost-effective recruiting methods.
  • Passionate about talent diversity best practices and able to cultivate strong talent networks, a proven talent scout.
  • Adept at bringing multiple stakeholders together both within HR and across functions; consultative client service expertise including strategic discussion on business need and role requirements, creation of sourcing strategies, guidance on best interview and calibration methods, and guidance on effective negotiation and close.
  • Structured systems thinker; can define a clear plan and align everyone behind it.
