Department: The RIS Customer Experience & In-force Optimization team has responsibility for driving continuous improvement to the customer experience and operational efficiency across the RIS in-force portfolio. The team executes against strategic roadmaps that prioritize meeting customer needs and delivering business value.


The role: This role will help the RIS customer experience & in-force optimization team harness data and insights to prioritize opportunities to experiment and drive improvements that deliver value to our customers and business partners. They will be responsible for leading analysis to support solution design and measurement of impact, and will support execution of experiments and initiatives. A successful candidate will have intellectual curiosity, an analytical mindset, and a bias toward action.


Key responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analyses to identify new opportunities, inform decision making and measure achievement of business objectives and key results
    • Review customer behavior and feedback data to identify customer experience enhancements (across multiple channels)
    • Analyses of operational and financial metrics to support in-force experiment scoping, design, and tracking
    • Develop dashboards to track business objectives and key results
    • Synthesize insights / findings to help shape new recommendations and solutions, support development of presentations for leadership
  • Lead small projects / workstreams within larger projects to drive progress against the Customer Experience and In-Force Optimization team strategy and support the priorities of the RIS business; collaborates with business, service, operations, technology to drive outcomes
  • Organizes and facilitates forums to drive a culture of customer focus and experimentation.
    • Build greater awareness and understanding around customer needs and operational challenges
    • Maintains pipeline of opportunities and supports prioritization for execution through small projects and experiments
    • Forums include monthly Customer Council, quarterly Customer Focus Lunch & Learns, and Experimentation Challenges
  • Provides research and/or project management on ad-hoc strategic initiatives to support the business


Qualifications and Capabilities

  • Strong project management and prioritization skills - ability to balance multiple projects/priorities of varying complexity track record of driving action
  • Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills – ability to identify opportunities / issues from insights and communicate effectively
  • Approach opportunities with a strategic mindset; balancing value, costs and risk
  • Challenging the status quo and experiment with confidence
  • Able to build strong working relationships across business, technology, operations to drive coordination and collaboration
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills – ability to translate complex concepts and data stories for various audiences
  • Some familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx, etc.)
  • Prior experience with annuities and life insurance businesses a plus
  • Undergraduate degree required
