Role Value Proposition 

As a member of a high performing collaborative tax team this tax professional is responsible for all aspects of tax transformation and tax operational support. The tax professional will be responsible for supporting end-users globally with tax provision calculations in Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud (TRC) software. They will collaborate with IT to troubleshoot existing issues and work towards automation of other tax provision processes. The tax professional will also be responsible for providing support and assistance in tax initiatives related to tax transformation improvements in the reporting process.

 
Key Responsibilities:

• Support tax provision teams with day-to-day processes and usage of tax provision software

• Ensure IT integrations are running smoothly as part of the monthly and quarterly financial close process

• Troubleshoot issues with end-users or IT teams to identify and resolve production issues

• Learn and become a Tax administrator over Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud tool

• Learn and become a subject matter expert in Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud
• Support financial reporting teams by generating and providing support for disclosures
• Maintain a working knowledge of tax and accounting to accomplish principal responsibilities

•Keep up with monthly Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud updates and impacts to MetLife environment

 

Project Tasks

  • Collaborate with tax provision teams globally to design new processes and enhancements to the tax provision and reporting process
  • Work with IT, software developers and offshore resource to develop and deploy tax automation processes
  • Document tax transformation processes and testing results and decisions


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Taxation
• 2-5 years of income tax accounting, technology, or tax compliance experience in a tax practice or an accounting firm
• Data analysis and data extraction skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills and use of pivot tables
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks workload and comply with financial reporting deadlines
• Self-motivated, with strong communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Power Point

 

Preferred:

 

• CPA or MBA preferred.
• Technical experience in life insurance tax and tax accounting (ASC 740, SSAP 101).
• Experience using business intelligence tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, or TRC.

The wage range for applicants for this position is $82,400 to $112,600. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. MetLife offers a comprehensive benefits program, including healthcare benefits, life insurance, retirement benefits, parental leave, legal plan services and paid time off.
