Senior Marketing Consultant, Content Manager

The Content Manager will assist in strategy, planning and development of owned content for the MetLife brand that drives customer engagement while supporting business goals.

Given this, we are investing in a talented individual to ensure that MetLife’s assets across traditional and digital channels develop and curate a clear, strong and impactful tone of voice, which is imperative as our brand continues its transformation.

Core responsibilities will focus on leading development, execution and day-to-day management of content initiatives for key group audiences (employers, brokers, employees.) This person will work as part of a team, driving editorial strategy, planning, development and execution across MetLife.com, owned social channels and marketing collateral.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Planning - Serve as intake for content needs and requests, developing strategies and solutions for content delivery.  Develop creative and content briefs
  • Strategy - Collaborate on developing strategies for content creation and distribution across owned and paid digital channels, including marketing collateral (Direct mail, email, video), MetLife.com (articles, product pages) and promotional content on social channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter).  Manage editorial calendar based on business themes and needs. Partner closely with marketing and business partners to develop content strategies for evolving MetLife.com pages, writing, editing, testing and continuously optimizing content. Maintain and audit content inventory to identify gaps, build taxonomies and optimize for on-page and off-page SEO. Plan, document, and maintain foundational writing guidelines for internal and external stakeholders
  • Production - Develop customer first communications, guiding all key stakeholders as needed. Manage relationship with external content development partners, preparing briefs for content creation, managing production and delivery. Manage production and review process for select MetLife.com content. Produce short form copywrite/ copyedit content as needed for updates to collateral, MetLife social and websites. Work with compliance and legal departments to ensure all assets are approved for use within deadlines. Become an expert on the MetLife brand tone of voice and visual guidelines. Develop and nurture relationships with global brand and other US businesses to understand where the brand is evolving and channel best practices across the business. 
  • Measurement - Analyze performance of content to inform and optimize future content creation. Incorporate data and research into creative/content development/optimizations including best practices, historical media results and artificial intelligence. 

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required

  • 5+ years of experience with experience in copywriting and content creation across a variety of channels.
  • Skilled at engaging target audiences (consumers, employers, employees) and driving business results, and passionate, with an uncompromising appreciation for quality, that is balanced by a creative mindset for inspiring and educational storytelling.
  • Flexible POV/voice and ability to adapt different messages to various audiences, channels, and outlets: traditional, digital, social, content, email and mail, collateral and website development.
  • Experience in developing briefing documents based on segmentation, consumer insights, and brand positioning with measurable in market success
  • Working knowledge of analytics, measurement and reporting
  • Willingness to jump in to help cross-functional team deliver on integrated marketing work as needed
