Role Value Proposition: 

This position is within the US Group Benefits CFO organization in the Financial Management Group, specifically supporting the Under 1000 Finance team within Regional Business (RB).  The Under 1000 segment generates approximately $500M in Sales, $2.5B in PFO and $150M in earnings.

 

This position reports to the VP responsible for Local Strategy and Under 1000 Finance and will partners heavily with the RB Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team on financial reporting and analysis, management reporting and other ad-hoc strategic financial evaluations.  This role has direct accountability for creating financial reports, providing detailed analysis on financial results, including variances to plan and prior year, and summarizing results in a succinct manner for communication to business leaders.  This position will also support development of monthly financial projections and the annual financial plan, providing supporting financial analyses and presentations that facilitate the RB CFO and US Group Benefits CFO review. 

    

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate preparation of monthly financial results, including variance analysis for key sales and revenue metrics, by market segment and product; compile presentations for RB CFO and business leader review.
  • Collaborate with RB FP&A team and coordinate processes to validate, interpret and share financial information ensuring a consistent reporting basis across RB market segments.
  • Perform a variety of ad-hoc financial studies to analyze and report interrelationships of financial information; determine validity of data and provide supporting explanations for conclusions.
  • Utilize historical financial data to project future short- and long-term scenarios and anticipated results.
  • Support annual bottom-up business and financial plan process for RB; partner with RB FP&A and business leaders to develop assumptions & criteria; facilitate review and approval of senior Finance and business leaders.
  • Support reporting, analysis and the integrity of financial data by developing the financial systems infrastructure, establishing controlled financial transaction processing through administrative systems, or providing technical support in the production of reports/analysis.
  • Prepare complex financial reports and identify and interpret key financial trends.
  • Support financial management as a key internal consulting resource.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required:

  • Extensive analytical and organizational skills; aptitude for detail 
  • Ability to present financial data concisely and clearly
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint
  • Strong consulting, interpersonal, communications, time management, project management

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Accounting or MIS
  • Advanced knowledge of computer systems and financial software and technology
  • Extensive knowledge of financial concepts, principles, and practices
