Role Value Proposition: 

This position will provide direct support to the EVP and General Counsel of MetLife. The role independently performs advanced administrative support duties related to the Key Responsibilities with goal of most efficient use of the General Counsel’s time. The role will also provide administrative support to other key business professionals within the group on an as needed basis. The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion, experience using office technologies (Word, PowerPoint, Excel,), self-starter skills, and the ability to operate independently. The position must be able to interact with senior level executives in a professional way, including internal and external contacts as well as domestic and international contacts.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Meeting set-up:  Setting up individual and group meetings, including coordinating any international meetings. Manage catering as needed.  Manage security badging requests for outside attendees when needed.
  • Calendar management:  Maintain calendar and coordinate closely with other business area contacts and other administrative assistants to ensure calendar is managed appropriately and without conflicts.
  • Travel arrangements:  Book travel reservations including both domestic and international travel
  • Travel expense reports:  Submit travel expenses for reimbursement
  • Material Preparation: Assist in the preparation and/or coordination of memoranda, presentations, reports and spreadsheets by preparing and editing text, slides and other materials.
  • Projects: May engage in projects providing logistical or administrative support as needed.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in administrative assistant or similar role.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills, proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities and set appropriate priorities
  • Highly collaborative, team focus with the ability to work with individuals at all levels
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently and work with senior level executives professionally
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office tools – including Microsoft Outlook

 

Preferred:

  • 3 + years supporting C-Suite executive(s)
  • Working knowledge of Legal Affairs, Compliance, or Risk teams
  • Bachelor’s degree
