Role Value Proposition: 

This position will be responsible for providing best-in-class account management support and business development within the GRM organization supporting the GRM Relationship Managers and Business Intelligence lead to help deepen MetLife’s relationship with its most important B2B partners. The person will have responsibility for all elements of account management support including the gathering of internal and external relationship updates, producing account level meeting materials, and ensuring key information is clearly communicated.


The Account Manager Support role is responsible for developing a comprehensive knowledge of the GRM clients, including the corresponding market environment, and will be responsible for establishing/maintaining enterprise-wide relationships within MetLife and utilizing those relationships to drive results/identify business development opportunities on behalf of MetLife and the GRM clients.


The Global Relationship Management Group is a highly visible business development team with span reaching across all MetLife lines of businesses globally. This role will be responsible for building critical relationships across the enterprise and external stakeholders, to support the GRM Account Managers and Leadership Team.


Key Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for driving internal and supporting external relationships on behalf of and in collaboration with the GRM Relationship Managers to help achieve incremental growth, retention, and sales goals.


  • Works independently as the primary account management contact, in support of the GRM Relationship Managers on several of MetLife’s most important and complex B2B relationships
  • Coordinates all relationship and sales support for assigned GRM accounts and anticipates and resolves complex problems
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships across the MetLife organization with all business line touchpoints (i.e. GB/VB, GEB/Maxis, RIS, Investments, Procurement, Treasury, etc.) to ensure best in class service
  • Own the logistics, coordination, and hosting of internal SWOT and pipeline calls including meeting materials, attendee list, and capturing /distributing meeting notes to internal account teams following RM approval
  • Diligently manages a comprehensive pipeline of ongoing buy and sell side opportunities for each account
  • Stand in for GRM Relationship Manager in certain situations and provide credible client knowledge
  • Coordinate client meetings in-person or via conference call and prepares materials, agendas, and presentations
  • Fully aware of the competitive landscape for the GRM client, industry trends, and legal developments impacting the GRM clients’ business and provide information to the GRM Relationship Managers
  • Partners with the GRM Relationship Managers and Business Intelligence lead to develop strategic client plans focused on client needs, organizational capabilities, and strategies to help deepen the relationships
  • Assists with executive level reporting for strategic accounts highlighting recent company and relationship developments, top interests, etc.
  • Maintains knowledge of MetLife’s products, services, and systems and the ability to strategically analyze the interaction of these products, services and systems through the GRM client lens
  • Ability to effectively work and engage with all levels of the organization including senior management, GEB cross-functions, MetLife Regions, and all global Enterprise functions
  • Support ad hoc requests from senior leaders and RMs relating to C-suite engagement (CEO to CEO/ESP), general organization navigation, planning strategic events, etc.
  • Work closely with the broader COE team to ensure alignment and system capabilities fulfill the needs for the Relationship Managers and Business Intelligence lead


Essential Business Experience and Skills:


  • Highly organized individual with the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills – presenting information in a clear concise manner both verbally and written
  • Experience working in a complex highly matrix organization


  • Bachelor’s/Undergraduate degree strongly preferred
  • Prior experience supporting relationship managers and/or sales organization
  • Prior experience developing executive level materials
