As part of MetLife’s Retirement and Income Solutions (RIS) Asset Liability Management (ALM), areas of practice will include actuarial modeling, risk management, finance, valuation, investments, technology, and data analysis.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

The Senior Actuarial Specialist will be responsible for calculations, data analysis, and risk evaluations that are actuarial in nature. They will also be responsible for initiating, organizing, and coordinating data and making recommendations to team members based on their research. Key focus areas will include Guaranteed Separate account valuation for State and NAIC regulations as well as Met Very Severe projections, Prophet modeling enhancements and Reg 128 Actuarial Opinion and Memorandum.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field
  • ASA designation
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Committed to completing the Society of Actuaries' educational requirements to attain the FSA designation. This can be illustrated through passed exams, work experience, affiliation with actuarial organizations and clubs, and analytical degrees.
  • Strong leadership experience
  • Strong computer/technical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

 

Preferred:

  • Experience with Guaranteed Separate Account valuation
  • Prophet Modeling
  • Knowledge of programming languages
