Role Value Proposition: The RE&CS Program Director drives the overall governance, communications, and initiatives of RE&CS.  This person is responsible for addressing the corresponding governance, policies, processes, platforms, reporting and metrics that are critical to success of the RE&CS operating model.  The Program Manager must support engagement of the regions through continuous outreach and integration in order to ensure alignment and adoption of programs within the operating model.   The role also requires partnering with RE&CS functional areas as appropriate

 

Key Responsibilities:

This role can be categorized into the following three primary areas of responsibility:

 

  1. RE&CS Program Management Lead Responsibilities

    1. Develop a program charter and roadmap; define future state vision, objectives, and program success metrics

    2. Develop necessary tools and templates for RE&CS, including, but not limited to, the following:

        1. Executive level and detailed reporting on program status, critical dates, key activities, reporting, etc.

        2. Program tracker(s) documenting transaction and program status, critical dates, key activities, etc.

        3. Risk and issue logs

        4. Document repository (e.g. SharePoint)

        5. Agendas

        6. Meeting minutes

    3. Engage in ongoing dialogue and support key stakeholders including the RE&CS functional execution team to manage ongoing reporting, timelines, schedules, status tracking, etc. by coordinating the data points, details, status updates on projects and deliverables. This could include:

        1. Overseeing requirements, approvals, submissions, etc.

        2. Tracking status of special programs

        3. Managing tools and templates updates to drive efficiency

        4. Managing portfolio dashboards and operational metrics to measure RE&CS performance and identify opportunities for improvement

    4. Govern all functional-specific RE&CS deliverables and Service Provider deliverables to Head of RE&CS as well as to the MetLife Enterprise, for example:

        1. Track savings opportunities

        2. Program executions plans

        3. Assign Head of RE&CS’s goals and objectives to specific people within RE&CS for completion & tracking completion

           

  2. RE&CS Governance  - Process & Policies Responsibilities

    1. Develop program governance (e.g., approval and engagement protocols and tools) and obtain alignment within RE&CS

    2. Ensure data integrity and consistent data standards through robust data governance program implementation and adoption

    3. Enforce practices that ensure accountability, fairness, and transparency in RE&CS’s relationship with all stakeholders 

    4. Schedule, prepare, and facilitate RE&CS leadership meetings (quarterly) to serve as a system of checks and balances

    5. Manage responsibility, performance, and rewards throughout all RE&CS programs

    6. Adhere to Enterprise Policy, including:

        1. Performance review process

        2. Rewards and recognition process

        3. Learning & development requirements

        4. Procurement & travel policy adherence

           

  3. Communications

    1. Responsible for developing and implementing RE&CS communications plan, including rewards/reinforcement, to ensure successful rollout of programs across the RE&CS organization and beyond

    2. Act as a Change Agent to drive transformation through all concerns, risks, and challenges across RE&CS

    3. Accountable for any presentations / materials that Head of RE&CS needs to develop (e.g. Town Hall decks, etc.)

       

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Minimum 8 years of real estate portfolio experience that includes exposure to multiple corporate real estate disciplines, finance, and other general business management experience

  • Large corporate environment experience where coordination, collaboration and communication across multiple organizations is required for alignment, approvals, decision-making, and governance

  • Expert influence skills to manage enterprise stakeholders, business partners, and teams of diverse composition (e.g. varying skill sets; in-house and outsourced; across locations and regions) who are not direct reports

  • Proven vision, leadership, and strategic thinking skills through each stage of program execution. Ability to lead evolving initiatives from start to finish in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills, ability to quickly synthesize complex and diverse data, and applying sound business judgment by creating rational and effective strategies that increase shareholder value

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and solid negotiation skills, including the ability to foster organizational change through program execution and act as a change agent

  • Strong organizational skills and detail orientation
