Role Overview:

The Consultant, Marketing Analytics – US Group Benefits Marketing will play a role in helping the business continue to evolve and execute against its strategic vision based on a comprehensive understanding of employee, employer, broker and marketplace dynamics.  This role will be responsible for working with the Director, Marketing Analytics to co-develop and execute analytics plans that deliver against critical business objectives.  This role will help translate business goals into measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and develop actionable insights from data analysis that are relevant to marketing and the broader US MetLife Group Benefits Organization. The role will investigate customer behavior, assess business impact, and socialize the findings for the betterment of the organization. This role will be a key member of the Insights, Analytics and Product Marketing team, and the Group Benefits Marketing Organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support US Group Benefits Marketing in establishing a best-in-class marketing analytics function by supporting data management, analytics planning, implementation, reporting and insights across marketing initiatives including:  acquisition, cross-sell, and retention.
  • Develop measurement plans that assess  performance of online and offline marketing programs.
  • With the Marketing Analytics team, help co-lead test and learn measurement planning, implementation, and impact analysis.  Work with team to understand attribution for priority campaigns and pilot programs
  • Translate measurement and learning into practical, actionable recommendations
  • Partner with media agency and internal technology teams to ensure website tracking is implemented and tested prior to campaign launch
  • Build dashboards that automate aggregation of multiple data sources, visually communicate and facilitate marketing decisions
    • Own underlying dashboard data workflows and business rules for marketing reporting


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative and/or business field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analytics, understanding how to review performance data and translate into recommendations to make key business decisions
  • Ability to assess and understand key structured and unstructured data sources and experience joining complex data sets for analysis and/or campaign execution
  • Advanced Excel experience
  • Adept in Tableau, Domo, Power Bi, Qlik Sense or other BI data aggregation and visualization software
  • Creative problem solving - ability to work with the team to craft new ways of measuring and assessing impact
  • Interest in uncovering trends, patterns & insights in the data
  • Curiosity, willingness to learn, and take on new responsibilities
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and working in a dynamic environment


  • Hands-on experience with Alteryx
  • Basic knowledge of marketing principles and digital marketing platforms, tactics, and data  
  • Experience in Insurance, Financial Services 
  • Experience in applying marketing analytics and attribution in B2B industries
  • Experience in predictive modeling and forecasting
  • Hands on experience building reports in Adobe Analytics and/or Salesforce and with Marketing Automation platforms such as Marketo
  • Understanding of data onboarding process and platforms (e.g. LiveRamp, Neustar)
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (SQL, Python, R)
