Role Value Proposition

The Director of Stable Value General Account, Inforce Product Management & Operations is responsible for the pricing of new Stable Value General Account Business, the inforce product management of all stable value products, and the gathering and creation of reports on the Stable Value business. The candidate will implement and manage effective execution of the company’s strategic business goals.  This role will have leadership responsibility and manage a pricing team. They will partner with the Investments, Sales, Client Relations, Finance, Controllers, Legal, Technical Accounting, Audit and GTO amongst all other internal CBF partners.

  • Inforce General Account Business of $5.2 billion with annual sales of over $1 billion
  • Inforce Separate Account and Synthetic Business of $74.4 billion
  • 600+ inforce stable value contracts with assets of $80 billion
  • 180+ separate accounts representing $80+ billion in assets


Key Responsibilities 

  • Responsibility for underwriting decisions for new General Account business
  • Responsibility for maintaining the inforce block of Stable Value business
  • Responsibility for compiling statistics and generating reports on the Stable Value business
  • Handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously, balancing long term-strategic needs with urgent immediate demands.
  • Builds strong working networks with customers, intermediaries, MetLife partners and associates both internal and external
  • Responsibility for the development of talent and the overall employee experience while maintaining an environment providing for motivation, participation and the opportunity for employee initiative
  • Heavy interaction with Investments, Stable Value Sales, Client Relations, Finance, Controllers, Legal, Marketing, Technical Accounting, Internal & External Audit and GTO.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills 

  • 10 + years of experience in the insurance industry / Stable Value preferred
  • Strong business and technical knowledge across multiple disciplines including servicing, underwriting, customer relationship management, operations, administration, marketing and product management
  • Time Management: Manages time successfully.  Well organized, highly motivated.  Delegates work effectively.
  • Communication – Maintain open, credible lines of communication with associates.  Utilize effective negotiation skills. Communicate high standards of performance. 
  • Coaching – Provide timely, candid feedback.  Promote teamwork and support associates.  Evaluate performance objectively. Strong people management skills
  • Leadership –Manage creatively to meet changing market and organizational needs. Make timely, practical decisions.  Manage issue escalation and problem resolution. 
  • Demonstrate strong, innovative critical thinking skills.
  • Process development & implementation experience with proven success
  • Strong understanding of business drivers and performance measures
  • Advanced Degree – MS / MBA preferred or equivalent work experience

The wage range for applicants for this position is $118,40- $157,900. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. MetLife offers a comprehensive benefits program, including healthcare benefits, life insurance, retirement benefits, parental leave, legal plan services and paid time off.
