The Role:

Regional Market is a growth engine for MetLife and a key growth driver for its Group Benefits business. The Group Operating Platform represents a key enabler of achieving this growth objective.

 

The incumbent will act as a Solution Manager (SM) accountable for the overall Testing and Quality Assurance of the entire solution realizing the value of ongoing solutions to deliver the end-to-end platforms, processes, and interactions in the journeys for brokers/GAs, employers and employees from quote-to-servicing.

 

The incumbent will be responsible for the creation and execution of the Test Strategy and Execution for the Group Operating Platform. The role is responsible for developing the Test Strategy, Test Automation, Test Data Management and ultimate execution of testing.

 

 

The role will work directly with the Business Owners, Solution Management and Product Management to establish the Testing Strategy and create a path to highest quality product and excellent experience for distribution partners, internal associates and members.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Partner with Business Owners to design and implement a Test Strategy for the Group Operating Platform.
  • Partner with Product Management and Solution Management teams to define and execute the Test Plan for the solution across program increments aligned to the test strategy and focused on driving business outcomes across the product roadmap
  • Define and execute a Testing Automation model for the Group Operating Platform
  • Develop a Test Data Management strategy that drives high quality testing outcomes and ultimate customer value.
  • Define and establish testing standards that are comprehensive and ensure the highest quality products
  • Define best practices for functional, operational readiness and regression testing to drive high quality product outcomes and delivering on overall customer and partner value
  • Lead a team of Solution and ART test leads and ensure development of robust testing approaches across ARTs with a breadth of relevant testing scenarios
  • Partner with MetLife and Vendor teams to drive development of highest quality test cases
  • Deliver on testing outcomes across each sprint
  • Present to senior and executive leadership on testing strategy, execution, progress and outcomes

 

Key Relationships:

  • Reports to: VP, Group Operating Platform and Agile Product & Solution Mgmt
  • Direct reports/team: 4 – 6
  • Key Stakeholders: Sales, Regional Market Stakeholders
  • Partner with Solution Architects, and ARTs to create viable and sustainable plans that align to business expectations
  • Set and manage stakeholders’ expectations through regular discussions about future needs and iterative demonstrations of completed work
  • Identify methods for gathering and incorporating feedback from multiple sources to better define solutions
  • Active interaction with Business Owners and other partners to protect the integrity of the deliverables
  • Work with Product Managers to ensure alignment of solution intent and backlog
  • Work with RTEs to coordinate and facilitate key meetings
  • Work with system architect and solution architects to understand what is possible and maintain the solution roadmap

 

 

Candidate Qualifications:

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

  • 10 + years of experience in Insurance working with multiple functions
  • Strong knowledge of Group Insurance business preferrable
  • Proven demonstrable track record in driving high quality testing programs
  • Proven experience in automation testing and test data management
  • Familiar and comfortable working in fast paced agile models
  • Ability to develop strategic & trusted partnerships with internal & external partners
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate teams
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Strong collaboration skills, ability to partner across the enterprise.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation & communication skills
  • Strong analytic skills and ability to think strategically
  • Proficient in testing tools (e.g. QTest, TOSCA etc.)
  • Undergraduate degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred

The wage range for applicants for this position is 121K-161K. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation.
