Position:  Director, Operational Readiness – Group Operating Platform

Job Location:  New York, NY (Hybrid) 

 

The Role:

Regional Market is a growth engine for MetLife and a key growth driver for its Group Benefits business. The Group Operating Platform is a key enabler of achieving this growth objective.

 

The incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of Operational Readiness associated with the launch and scaling of the Group Operating Platform in the U100 market and U1000 markets. This includes aspects such as existing processes, workflows, work instructions, launch sequencing, training readiness and resource planning. The incumbent will ultimately own and execute on a comprehensive and exhaustive operational readiness plan to help drive the success metrics of the Group Operating Platform.

 

The role will work directly with Business Owners, Solution Management and functional partners across Underwriting, Servicing, Claims and Cross Functional Service organizations to prepare the Group Operating Platform for launch and scaling in the U100 and U1000 markets.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Design a comprehensive end to end operational readiness plan for the launch and scaling of the Group Operating Platform in the U100 market.
  • Partner with functional leaders across Underwriting, Service and Claims organizations to identify requirements for operational readiness
  • Lead the development of updated process maps, workflows, and instructions in preparation for the launch of the Group Operating Platform in the U100 market
  • Own and execute on the operational readiness plan in pursuit of the U100 new business scaling goals for 2023 and beyond.
  • Partner with the Service organization to conduct assessments of new processes, workflows, and enablement materials to identify opportunities to enhance and improve operational effectiveness and new features for the platform
  • Partner with the business owners and solution management to conduct an assessment for U100 migration and design an operational readiness plan for the U100 migration
  • Partner with the business owners and solution management in the development of U1000 scaling strategy and mobilization plan
  • Develop a nationwide training and enablement strategy and plan for internal and external sales and service partners including GAs and Brokers
  • Partner with Sales Enablement to design, develop and conduct training for internal sales and service teams and external sales and service partners
  • Develop turnkey set of tools, processes and assets to activate and onboard new distribution partners onto the Group Operating Platform
  • Present to senior and executive leadership on testing strategy, execution, progress and outcomes

  • Key Stakeholders: Sales, Regional Market Stakeholders

 

 

Candidate Qualifications:

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

  • 10 + years of experience in Insurance working with multiple functions
  • Strong knowledge of Group Insurance service and operations (under 1000 market) highly preferrable
  • Familiar and comfortable working in fast paced agile models
  • Ability to develop strategic & trusted partnerships with internal & external partners
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate teams
  • Excellent Project Management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Strong collaboration skills, ability to partner across the enterprise.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation & communication skills
  • Strong analytic skills and ability to think strategically with attention to detail
  • Undergraduate degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred

The wage range for applicants for this position is 121K-161K. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation.
