This position will be a key member of the US Pensions team dedicated to the operations and oversight of MetLife’s bulk check group annuity contracts. The role will manage a team administrator who are responsible for bulk check monthly processing and client relationship management. This position will collaborate with RIS Operations and significantly impact the organization by helping to identify process improvements and striving for consistent data between MetLife and our clients, allowing for correct payments and records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate monthly processing for clients who utilize Bulk Check payment arrangements.
- Management of the bulk check administration team including establishing department goals, providing the team with regular feedback, facilitating team training, coordinating employee development plans, business plans and performance reviews
- Ensure that MetLife’s bulk check arrangements are being administered in accordance with the contract and service agreement.
- Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to team members as appropriate.
- Ensure bulk check administrators are fully trained to perform their duties.
- Track bulk check operational metrics, compare actual results against goals and monitor effectiveness of financial controls.
- Communicate results to the team and upper management.
- Review processes and procedures to ensure accuracy of the monthly processing; identify trends and address any issues with the appropriate administrator. Develop and execute plans to correct any issues identified and monitor progress.
- Review and approve monthly wires to bulk check clients or third-party administrators. Address any issues as they arise.
- Coordinate and manage the work of the administration team for the annual bulk check reconciliation process and the work to resolve any findings.
- Review monthly processing for exceptions or anomalies and ensure administrator follow-up with the client or third-party administrator. Develop, execute, and manage the resolution to any issue identified.
- Primary accountability for management controls relating to bulk check administration including segregation of duties, policies and procedures, training, supervision, and review.
- Partner with RIS Business Solutions and RIS Operations to ensure timely resolution of any issues relating to MetLife Systems of Record
- Develop and ensure the bulk check administration team uses standard, repeatable business processes.
- Translate RIS and US Pensions vision and objectives and assist with developing the department vision, strategy, service levels, and business objectives. Communicate vision and strategy to the bulk check administration team.
- Propose, evaluate, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness and reduce risk of error.
- Partner with RIS Operations and other areas to build strong working relations and improve workflow and organizational efficiency.
- Ensure all internal and external audits have been fully coordinated and thoroughly addressed within their specified timeframes.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- 4-10 years related experience.
- Understanding of annuity products and pension benefits preferred
- Strong business acumen
- Strong relationship management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience managing organizational change, providing leadership and delegating.
- Project management skills including leading projects and working effectively with others.
- Strong communication skills including presentations.
Preferred:
- 4-year college degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Prior client management experience preferred.

The wage range for applicants for this position is $87,000 to $134,700.. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation.
