Role Value Proposition: 

The Brand Designer of Global Brand Design, is responsible for delivering design and production support to help the brand design team lead the application, and constant evolution of MetLife’s brand design system across all media types, including digital, video, print, and content design under the guidance of the Design Lead, Global Brand Design.


The key distinguishing aspect of this role will be partnering with the Design Lead to identify areas to extend and evolve the MetLife brand design system and act as a primary designer on complex design projects with responsibility for developing high-quality strategic and conceptual design solutions for digital, print and motion applications.


Key Responsibilities:    

  • Creative Execution. The primary designer on select complex digital projects with responsibility for developing high-quality strategic and conceptual solutions. On other projects, the role will function as part of a design team to deliver these executions.
  • Creative Production. Assisting in the production of marketing materials, assets and other elements of the brand design system across media.
  • Asset Development & Management. Leveraging internal and agency resources, extend the asset library developed to support MetLife’s brand. This will include the development of systems across media that can be leveraged by local teams, and extension of UX patterns, photographic and illustration executions, under the direction of the Brand Design leadership.
  • Agency & Partner Management. At times, managing the work of agency partners delivering against key brand design experiences.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience in branding and digital design, spanning to motion and print.
  • Ability to leverage design skills to help solve creative and communication problems with creative solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Experience working with and in teams across branding, digital design, and video/content creation and production.
  • Design skills to help create deliverables such as mock-ups, specifications, storyboards, PPT/Keynote/InDesign presentations for various initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of creative briefs, reviews client business objectives and recommend appropriate creative solutions.
  • Manage project assets including UX patterns, design assets and experience principles, according to department guidelines.
  • Represent creative team in presentation of preliminary work, internally and to clients.
  • Develop detailed vendor specifications and provide production direction to appropriate team members.
  • Manage the closure of projects, ensuring all project assets are archived appropriately according to department best practices.
  • Provide feedback for work produced outside the department, ensuring adherence to department quality standards, MetLife’s brand identity system and alignment with MetLife’s brand positioning.
  • Meet all budget and deadline requirements.
  • Understanding of cultural trends, the industry and marketplace as well as MetLife business strategies and goals.



  • Formal education in design, a BA of BFA degree is strongly preferred.
