Role Value Proposition: 

 

The candidate will be responsible for asset-liability management and risk evaluation and advise on functions that require actuarial or mathematical techniques to determine appropriate courses of action. They also assure the preparation and interpretation of data for support with various insurance regulators.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Will produce and analyze results for RIS Cash Flow Testing (CFT) and Quarterly Reserving with respect to Reinsured Pension Risk Transfer business subject to the Scenario Based Approach (SBA) required by the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA).  Responsibilities include:

 

  • Running quarterly asset projections in Prophet ALS for reserving and cash flow testing
  • Preparing SBA interest rate scenarios and investment assumption model inputs
  • Developing asset selection process for reinsured PRT business, monitoring asset holdings and portfolio analytics
  • Working with the Global Actuarial Modeling (GAM) team with respect to model updates

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, computer science or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in actuarial or investment capacity
  • Would need to have passed a minimum of 3 actuarial exams
  • Advanced practical and theoretical knowledge of actuarial modeling and analysis.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong data analysis skills and attention to detail.

 

Preferred:

  • ASA or near-ASA
  • Knowledge of capital markets, interest rate theory, derivatives, and fixed income investment products
  • Experience with actuarial models, preferably Prophet ALS
