The Role:

The AVP of Global Workplace Design will develop, design, and articulate the design vision, values, and strategy for the company’s workplace environments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the company’s evolving workplace strategy, working with the Workplace Experience lead, workplace technology and other industry experts to design and implement new workplaces
  • Provide thought leadership in design for the company with an emphasis on exceptional workplaces and workplace experiences
  • Work closely with technology partners to identify workplace technology / tool requirements that meet (or exceed) the needs of our hybrid workforce
  • Craft and communicate the workplace design vision to internal and external audiences
  • Bring forward industry-leading ideas and insightful data to guide design-related decisions and offer innovative solutions
  • Develop an understanding of and staying current on changes and innovations to the workplace before and beyond the pandemic
  • Gain a deep understanding of customer (employee) problems in how we work and defining how our workplace could be design to their benefit
  • Lead a team of external designers and architects

  • Reports to: VP of RE&CS Global Strategy & Operations

  • Key Stakeholders: SVP Global Real Estate & Corporate Services, VP Global Strategy Operations, VP Global Facilities Management

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design or Architecture
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in corporate real estate design and architecture
  • Experience as a principal, studio director, or director of design for a corporate real estate organization
  • Large corporate environment experience where coordination, collaboration and communication across multiple organizations is required for alignment, approvals, decision-making, and governance
  • Expert influence skills to manage enterprise stakeholders, business partners, and teams of diverse composition (e.g. varying skill sets; in-house and outsourced; across locations and regions) who are not direct reports
  • Proven vision, leadership, and strategic thinking skills through each stage of program execution. Ability to lead evolving initiatives from start to finish in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and solid negotiation skills, including the ability to foster organizational change through program execution and act as a change agent
  • Strong organizational skills and detail orientation
