Role Value Proposition: 

The Innovation Analyst is responsible for supporting the tools and processes of the MetLife Innovation Office (Met.IO), helping to drive innovative solutions to business problems. The analyst will work across the team in a number of projects and activities.  This includes, supporting various projects within the MetLife Digital Accelerator, contributing to co-investment reviews of strategically valuable startup organizations, and conducting research in partnership with leading universities. The work will require attention to detail, external research, project management, various levels of reporting, and an ability to synthesize complex solutions into easily understood concepts for multiple constituencies. In addition, the Analyst will drive a series of initiatives for multiple teams and partners including external capability sourcing and proof of concept (POC) support.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively support research projects to drive the development of transformational digital concepts
  • Lead external capability sourcing and POC efforts across MetLife
  • Actively support the innovation team, MetLife and our partners on the launch, development and management of the MetLife Digital Accelerator
  • Actively support co-investment activities including due diligence and the development of investment recommendations
  • Engage MetLife leaders to gather requirements and identify opportunities for innovative solutions
  • Research new and maturing startup companies, mapping their products and services to MetLife requirements
  • Support and manage processes for the capture, analysis, and prioritization of innovation ideas


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:



  • Undergraduate degree with an additional 3 – 5 years of professional experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple strategic partnerships and relationships with client groups
  • Excellent understanding of the current technology environment and leading-edge products and services
  • Strong business analysis and writing skills with the ability to articulate business concepts as manageable components



  • 3 or more years of experience in the financial services industry
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • Experience with CRM (e.g. SalesForce) and/or data visualization tools (e.g. Qlik Sense)
  • Experience with working in a dynamic and/or startup environment
  • A flexibility and openness to shifting priorities and timelines
  • Willingness to try new things and fail
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of time
