Role Value Proposition: 

As a marketing lead on the RIS business, the role’s primary focus is to drive marketing initiatives to support the division’s sales goals.  This is done through partnering with business counterparts along with broader US and global marketing teams.  The candidate will work with leadership to develop marketing plan which is based on key priorities and new business value.  This role is responsible and accountable for all marketing within the assigned line of business, beginning with audience insight and culminating in a well-thought out and executed, measurable marketing plan.


Key Responsibilities:    

  • Build insight-driven marketing campaigns designed to drive new business value
  • With an eye on analytics, builds measurable plans and makes recommendation for scaling or course corrections
  • Participates in the new product development process which is based on insights, making recommendations on timing, go to market strategy and execution.
  • Integrates marketing plans with other activities of the enterprise, working cross-functionally to ensure coordination and partnership
  • Direct pilots to drive incremental business for the assigned lines of business
  • Provides direction and mentorship to junior staff and vendors
  • Manages campaign management and execution for respective line of business
  • Directs the learning plan for line of business that will enable new insights to be uncovered and make recommendations and action plans for  marketing execution
  • Drives the long-term marketing strategy plans for the line of business with a forward thinking approach
  • Drives branding and value proposition research and then makes recommendations on activation
  • Participates in the evolution of the brand promise and positioning and applies them to the RIS business
  • Partners across the enterprise to make use of best practices
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • 8-10+ years of relevant marketing experience inclusive of go-to-market strategy development, execution, and measurement
  • Ability to advise, influence, manage, and lead (1 direct report + multiple 3rd party agency relationships and matrixed internal resources)
  • Experience leveraging critical thinking skills and analytical capabilities to translate research insights into actionable recommendations and marketing solutions
  • Ability to clearly articulate those linkages between research findings and marketing solutions to key stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of how to translate enterprise-wide business goals into marketing priorities
  • Has consistent values with Metlife culture that include collaboration, trust, and customer-first orientation
  • Able to support strategic recommendations to leadership with corresponding data/insights
  • Excellent presentation skills (strong at PowerPoint creation and delivery)



  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred and MBA a plus
  • Exposure to Financial Services industry strongly preferred
  • Strong cross-functional project management experience
