Role Value Proposition: 

Real Estate and Corporate Services (RE & CS) is a core business function in MetLife’s Global Operations & Technology (GTO) division that provides enterprise services in Real Estate & Corporate Services, and its capabilities extend across four regions that include the Americas, Latin America, Europe Middle East and Africa, and Asia. The position is responsible for the development and implementation of major global resource and location planning, real estate and corporate services strategy which may cut across all organizational functions, regions and the enterprise.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Development of location planning strategies and supporting business cases; management of programs during implementation, negotiating incentives with public agencies and management of incentives totaling in the aggregate of ~$200M; development and implementation of risk management practices and controls; development and execution of a resource strategy framework, processes and metrics
  • The associate will be responsible to operate in both a strategic and tactical capacity with high global visibility leading cross-functional teams across RE & CS, lines of business, legal, and technology teams.  These programs will support Enterprise operating expense reduction initiatives
  • The candidate will develop and drive analyses to make the business case for location planning strategies and will provide direction, thought leadership and guidance on the planning, development and implementation of real estate portfolio, occupancy, location and labor sourcing strategies to achieve operating and financial objectives, and will present results and recommendations to Executive leadership
  • Subject matter expert position and oversight of global resource strategies in LatAm, EMEA and the Americas
  • Position interacts with Executive Members, Global Leadership Teams (e.g., GTO, Americas Business, EMEA, LatAm and Asia leadership teams), and many VP level associates


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


Required skills: 

  • 10+ years of professional experience with 5+ years of direct experience in a corporate environment, with background in Strategic Real Estate Transactions, investment analyses and financial modeling
  • Senior management level experience in strategy development and value creation
  • Solutions-oriented, with sound business judgment and strong analytical skills; superior problem-solving skills with ability to make rational, complex decisions based on available data
  • Superior client-service skills; ability to interact with, provide thought leadership to and positively influence senior-level management
  • Strong leadership and managerial experience and abilities
  • An expert at process and change management, problem solver
  • Excellent analytical and strategic skills
  • Executive level written and verbal presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship management and team-building skills and ability to excel in teaming environments
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Successful track record for managing multiple projects simultaneously through project teams, multiple resources across diverse cross-functional groups in support of enterprise objectives
  • Fluency with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
