 Key Responsibilities:  


  • Creates and documents claims file to comply with company guidelines and state regulations.
  • Reviews factual information to determine coverage based on applicable policy language.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate dwelling repair estimates and personal property inventories.
  • Ownership of claim files from assignment to completion.
  • Review, negotiate and evaluate vendor, contractor and mitigation estimates/supplements.


 Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:  




  • 5+ yrs. Homeowner’s claims experience.
  • Experienced with claims estimating software (Xactimate preferred).
  • Customer focused with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently from a home based office.  Must be able to travel for re-inspections, issue resolution and Catastrophe duty as needed – able to work four tours per year of two weeks at a time.
  • Must have the capability of handling estimate quality reviews and supplemental estimates from a desk.  Solid adjusting & damage identification skills – particularly “hail’ identification
  • Ability to climb a ladder and comfortably assess roof damage on slopes up to 7/12 pitch.



  • Bachelor’s degree, Insurance Industry Certification(s) or prior Military Service
