In this role you will be responsible for providing exemplary customer service by processing group long term disability income insurance claims in a timely and accurate fashion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert review of appeals as well as pre-litigation situations, acts as corporate representative assisting law department, typically for most complex high financial impact mediations or settlements.
  • Uses multiple databases, internal and external resources to obtain and record information, compiles file documentation requiring extensive policy and factual detail.
  • Drafts responses to Dept of Insurance and Presidential complaints, identifies and refers appropriate matters to counsel.
  • Acts as top subject matter expert, makes decisions referred by claim team members.
  • Works with business consultants, procedures and training, and other support areas to resolve system issues, develop and communicate new or updated procedures and communications.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of STD, LTD, group disability, workers compensation, ERISA, social security, and state laws.
  • Proficient customer focus and management. Expert knowledge of multiple systems and technology resources.
  • 5+ years of experience in Insurance Claims for LTD/IDI


  • Bachelor’s Degree
