Role Value Proposition:

 

The PlanSmart (financial education) Account Executive will be a member of the team supporting the PlanSmart strategy for the West Coast - candidate HAS to be located on the West Coast..  This position will focus on new customer sales, working with the Group Benefits Sales Team, Direct Marketing and Broker/Consultant relationships. The Account Executive will ensure clients continue involvement with PlanSmart and will develop strong relationships with existing clients, Group Benefit Sales and our Financial Professional partners.       

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Working independently, Selling PlanSmart financial education to new and existing customers in assigned territory.  Maintains and grows the book of business through aggressive sales, upsells, and support of Group Benefit products within accounts/territory
  • Own relationship with existing customer in assigned territory to increase financial education workshops
  • Own relationship with Group Benefits Regional Directors and Account Executives in assigned territory
  • Work with Implementation Coordinator to insure implementation of new customers
  • Responsible for continuing workshops and up-selling all PlanSmart services
  • Partner with our financial professional partners to share best practices and drive growth

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required:

  • Sound business practices and judgement (marketplace interactions, expenses, events, compliance etc.)
  • Partnership and collaboration (internal Group Benefits, across MetLife)
  • Delivers against goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated track record of top sales performance in employee benefits and sales leadership in the industry
  • Accomplished change management leader, able to operate effectively in a highly matrix environment
  • Ability to travel 50-75%
  • License requirement: Life/Health License and Series 6 and 63 License obtain within 6 months

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent focusing on marketing experience
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively
  • Ability to work within a sales team environment and handle multiple assignments simultaneously when meeting deadlines and under pressure
  • Meeting/seminar planning and ability to maintain a strong pipeline and account activity with partners

The wage range for applicants for this position is $50,000 - $65,000 This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. MetLife offers a comprehensive benefits program, including healthcare benefits, life insurance, retirement benefits, parental leave, legal plan services and paid time off. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
