MetLife, at the Executive level, has placed a high priority on the implementation of a top tier Insurance industry Non-Financial Risk Framework within Global Technology and Operations (GTO).  As a part of the GTO Business Controls team, supporting Global Customer Service & Operations, this is a great opportunity to contribute to the ongoing maturity and execution of the risk framework in a large, global institution and influence how the organization views risk.  You will partner closely with business stakeholders and other corporate functions, including Global Risk Management, Internal Audit, Compliance, and Technology in the evolution and ongoing execution of the risk framework.  The Business Controls, Global Customer Service & Operations Risk Management organization is focused on the assessment and monitoring of risk within Global Customer Service & Operations and understanding how the risk landscape continues to evolve over time to ensure that the risk framework is continually addressing emerging risk.


Key Responsibilities: 


  • Work with varied data sources for entry/implementation in OpenPages tool
  • Synthesize data and determine data relevance for use in reporting
  • Participate in and drive GCSO perspective for data clean up initiatives
  • Develop supporting processes for GCSO data strategy / approach
  • Tactical review and manipulation of GCSO PRC and issues data
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on OpenPages functionality
  • Perform GCSO data quality assurance/evaluation
  • Serve as gatekeeper for GCSO data entered into centralized trackers/OpenPages
  • Serve as GCSO voice in enterprise data taxonomy or data hierarchy projects
  • Collaborate on data solutions to achieve team objectives
  • Develop effective and efficient solutions to data needs
  • Lead and support data aggregation, manipulation, clean-up initiatives, and related reporting
  • Coordinate and collaborate, while building strong relationships, with Internal Audit, Risk, Compliance, Global Customer Service & Operations regional partners, and other GTO partners as appropriate.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • 5+ years professional experience in a large complex organization, including 1+ years of experience with OpenPages or similar GRC technology, exposure to risk management principles and taxonomies
  • Demonstrated experience in working with varied data sources within same central tool or database
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize data and determine data relevance for use in reporting
  • Demonstrated experience with data clean-up initiatives including tactical review, quality assurance/ evaluation, and manipulation of data
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, IT, Risk Management, or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to produce timely reporting for audiences at varying levels within the organization
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills – including oral and written communications, relationship building, collaboration, and influencing – across a broad range of levels in the organization
  • Problem solver with the ability to translate information into actionable recommendations
  • Demonstrated track record of proactive communication to partners and leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to produce timely reporting for audiences at varying levels within the organization
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and quality

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to collaborate on solutions and agility to change direction based on needs
  • Demonstrated flexibility with shifting priorities and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Secondary language fluency (Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, etc.) preferred, but not required

The wage range for this position specific to Colorado is 85,700 to 114,300.  The role is eligible for incentive compensation under the MetLife Annual Variable Incentive Plan ("AVIP").  Your eligibility for and award of incentives are governed by the terms of the plan.
