Summary of Position Responsibilities:

The purpose of this position is to lead the Regional IT Project and Program Management activities in Asia, xJapan.

 

The role is critical in driving the delivery of:

  • Tech project/programs such as regional Currency and Reinvestment (“RI”) programs
  • Facilitation of Asia’s RI funding asks and oversight   
  • People manager to Project Managers/Controllers in the team 
  • Manage senior stakeholders’ expectations in business and tech.  
  • Implementing new ways of working i.e. Agile Delivery Model

 

Able to contribute to other key initiatives in IT such as strategic vendor sourcing and promote diversity, equity and inclusion culture, along with strategic mindset in delivering business value.

 

The role is a critical part of the GTS team in meeting these objectives:

  • Successful delivery of regional tech project/programs with desired business outcome (e.g. Currency, BD PAS)
  • Work with business and tech stakeholders to drive RI requests approvals for carry over and net new
  • Proper oversight and management of Reinvestment financials 
  • Collaborate with GTO KL Hub leadership to continuously enhance the value of the hub and represent the hub
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the reporting staff and promote continues improvement.

Being a key change agent in Agile Delivery Model (“ADM”) transformation in the region

 

 

Principal Accountabilities of Position:

 

In the short-term, the role will need to launch the following key initiatives:

  • Next Horizon RI Programs:
    • Lead the planning of 2022  initiative within the region
    • Provide financial management of 2021 initiative including budget control within the region and provide transparency of actual & forecast to regional finance
    • Schedule and host the monthly program financial review meeting with respective country in scope for initiative 
    • Manage the program tranche funding request
    • Support and provide input related to 2021 program to Quarterly Business Review
    • Coordinate and execute the program related SOW required to be signed by KL Hub  
    • Collaborate with country/regional finance team to resolve issues related to financial transactional
  • Provide oversight on regional Currency program progress and funding requirements
  • To be trained and subsequently provide training in L2 role based Agile training to support the broader agile transformation journey
  • Take part in the TargetProcess workstream to support Clarity system replacement as part of ADM

 

In the longer term, the role will need to:

  • To lead and drive strategic, innovative or transformation initiatives
  • Drive agile enablement by coaching newly formed agile team in the region
  • Strategize the transition from traditional delivery model to Agile delivery model in the region.
  • Collaborate with business and tech stakeholder in the region to continuously seek opportunity for new technology or initiative to enable business plan.  

 

Essential Experience, Skills and Competencies:

Experience of:

  • At least 15 years total working experience in It with 10 years focal in project/program management
  • Technology consulting experience with a reputable Consulting Firm will have added advantage
  • Driving large and complex transformation, innovation, strategic initiative
  • Insurance industry (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Strong project/program financial acumen
  • Leading agile delivery team
  • Involve in annual technology planning cycle
  • Collaboration with senior leadership
  • Working with multiple stakeholders across region including US
  • Working in a multinational environment is an added advantage

 

Skills                             

  • Bachelor degree in IT or related
  • Certification in Agile or Human Centered Design Thinking
  • Good strategic perspectives
