Role Value Proposition: 

This role will be responsible for motivating, coaching and leading a team of Small Market Sales Reps to achieve their development and sales targets.  This will require the incumbent to have a strong working knowledge of the employee benefits marketplace and MetLife’s group, voluntary and worksite benefits.  The Sales Desk Regional Leader will be responsible for daily execution of revenue targets through new sales, cross sell, up sell (add coverages) and renewals.  This role will work closely with Broker Consultant Relationship Management (BCRM) and Broker Strategy as well as Underwriting, Regional Market Sales and Small Market Service to drive the right relationships and outcomes.

    

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Lead and retain a team of motivated sales professionals who sell and renew Small Business Group Insurance
  • Deploy group product expertise and sales knowledge to enable Small Market Sales Reps to deliver compelling responses to RFPs and increase overall Sales Desk credibility
  • Proactively leverage existing upmarket relationships and data to qualify lead opportunities
  • Create and maintain strong relationships between the team and regional market sales partners and brokers
  • Achieve sales targets through Sales Specialists’ execution of key sales performance metrics, i.e. Cases quoted, coverages sold, persistency, etc.
  • Embed a culture of continuous improvement, i.e. daily team huddles, coaching, problem solving, etc.
  • Ensure Sales Specialists  utilize  core operating Systems (SFDC, MARS, etc.) and standard sales processes

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

  • Previous experience successfully selling and servicing Group Insurance products
  • Previous experience in selling through direct and indirect distribution channels.
  • Broad knowledge of Group voluntary products and markets, including associated regulations
  • Experience managing a team of incentive-based sales professionals
  • Ability to work with and influence partners and stakeholders other than direct reports
  • Ability to analyze data and information to create meaningful insights
  • Knowledge of and/ or prior experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce.com)
  • College Degree – BA/BS preferred
