Position Summary

 

 

Perform a variety of accounting reconciliation functions to report financial information in accurate and timely manner.  Follow-up with banks and lines of business at client-end for closure of accounting open items. Maintain data and records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and reporting requirements. Produce monthly reconciliation statements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

 

Education

  • Graduate in Accounting / Commerce / Business Administration with at least 15 years of education..

 

Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years of work experience in a related field is required as AM or TL.

 

Knowledge and skills (general and technical)

  • Experience required in reconciliations, reporting, general accounting, SOX audit walkthroughs etc. is preferred.
  • Perform a variety of accounting reconciliation functions to report financial information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Perform research on variances by using various reconciliation tools and applications
  • Follow-up with banks and lines of business at client-end for closure of accounting open items
  • Maintain data and records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and reporting requirements
  • Produce monthly reconciliation statements and various financial reports
  • Perform Pay/No Pay decisions on the checks in exception by using decision making and analytical skills
  • Conduct and Lead SOX walkthroughs for Internal Audit
     
  • Knowledge and skills (general and technical) Strong knowledge of Accounting principles
  • Knowledge of end to end reconciliation cycle
  • Knowledge about the Insurance industry in US
  • Knowledge about US CultureGood computer navigation skills
  • Good keyboarding speed
  • Good knowledge of complete MS Office suite, MS Excel
  • Proficiency in English

  • Ensure that the quality of transaction is in compliance with predefined parameters as defined by Process Excellence.
  • Perform quality check on reconciliations and perform RCA on errors.
  • Provide feedback to the team members.
  • Lead discussions with Stateside teams on various forums like review meetings, weekly virtual huddles etc.

 

  • Knowledge of Lean principles and application.
  • Prior experience of working on applications like PeopleSoft, CORAL, and Frontier etc. Other Requirements (licenses, certifications, specialized training – if required)
  • Proficient knowledge of CMMI modules
