Position Summary


Continuing with the tradition of innovation, MetLife, as part of its Data and Analytics function, has established a dedicated center for advanced analytics & research in India. The setup of Global Analytics and Research Center (GARC) is a key multi-year strategic initiative focused on scaling data engineering, data science /machine learning/ artificial intelligence, visualization, techno-project management capabilities, enabling a more cost-effective analytics operating model, and increasing data and analytics maturity across the MetLife global community.

  1.  Business operations - to manage and scale GARC site operations. In this role , the individual works with stakeholders across MetLife India centers (Hyderabad, Noida and Jaipur) and US centers to ensure alignment on GARC strategic priorities,  seek/provide inputs for conducting business operations at GARC- weekly status reports, quarterly site reviews and steering committee reviews, lead & participate in periodic reviews to make progress across functions such as HR/talent acquisition and engagement, finance, facilities, governance, legal, risk and IT. This position will act as a liaison between GARC/Hyderabad site, other functions within GOSC functions and DnA.
  2.  Data and analytics project manager: with scrum expertise to structure, plan and handle multiple projects with minimum supervision and will be responsible for successful completion of projects and successful implementation of Analytics lifecycle and its practices.

The position will report to Lead- Project Management. The role provides an opportunity to demonstrate strong project management skills/agile methodologies, operational management skills negotiation, verbal and written communication skills and stakeholder alignment skills


Job Responsibilities


For the ‘business operations’ role:

  • Responsible for planning, tracking, enabling execution & communicating progress against key focus areas of GARC – Talent acquisition, onboarding, training, finance, facilities, IT, community engagement & management reporting; follow-ups/alignment with stakeholders across various functions at GOSC and DnA.
  • Work with GARC center leadership team- Head of analytics, Directors & senior members at GARC & contribute to driving and consolidating artefacts such as status reports, site updates, case studies across multiple functional/geographical teams
  • Lead the monthly engagement/fun activities at the Hyderabad center
  • Lead and drive communications through Yammer & other available channels
  • Prepare meeting notes and track actions from multiple forums. Key ones
    • GARC bi-weekly touch points
    • GARC semi-monthly reviews with DnA
    • GARC functional governance: HR, facilities, finance, and IT
    • GARC Site MBR (Quarterly)
    • GARC Steering Committee meeting (Quarterly)

For the ‘data and analytics’ project manager role

  • Develop artifacts and project documentation required for compliance and audit
  • Prepare project status reports for review with stakeholders and ensure appropriate governance checks are maintained
  • Track project progress, budgets, risks, and issues to ensure timelines and deliverables are met and regular cadence with key stakeholders is in place
  • Work with release manager to get projects in deployment queue and operationalize
  • Run project/program specific scrum meetings and perform all scrum activities like backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint retrospective etc.
  • Work with multiple Analytics Leads in US and other geographies to gather requirements as needed and implement it for successful project closure
  • Gather process improvement requirements and develop/update processes and frameworks as needed and provide suggestions to governance team
  • Development of detailed documentation and strategic presentations for executives
  • Update roadmaps and process workflow charts as per requirement

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



Education & professional certifications

  • Bachelor’s in engineering/technology is required; MBA is a plus
  • PMP/Prince2, Scrum / Agile, SAFe project management certification is required
  • Proficient in MS Office suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio; understanding of analytical tool stack, Jira, SharePoint, bitbucket and clarity is a plus



  • 8+ years of experience in operations and project management in large enterprises with operations across countries/different time zones/matrix structures
  • Strong communication, comprehension skills to lead and participate in discussions with business and technology leaders
  • Highly independent, pro-active and reliable to get things done
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with diverse talent and an attitude to thrive in a fun fast paced startup like environment
