The setup of DnA center is a key multi-year strategic initiative focused on scaling business solutions using AI, data science, data governance, data engineering, business intelligence, agile project management capabilities, enabling more cost-effective analytics operating model, and increasing AI maturity across the MetLife global community.

This position is responsible for ensuring high quality business intelligence/visualization solutions are designed, developed, and deployed to production. The role will collaborate with Business, Data, BI & Insights teams to develop robust, stable analytical solutions leveraging the cutting-edge technologies and frameworks

Job Respnosibilities:

 

  • Work with Visualization Manager and business teams to understand the business problem and KPIs, design wireframes and iterate the wireframes till they are frozen.
  • Understand the data sources and design appropriate ETLs for sourcing data.
  • Develop and test Power BI, Cognos/QlikView scripts to import data from source systems.
  • Develop and test Power BI/Cognos/QlikView dashboards/reports to meet business requirements.
  • Write SQL queries and stored procedures to support the dashboards and validate them.
  • Present dashboards under the supervision of senior associates to business stakeholders and drive consumption along with Visualization Manager
  • Manage & support the dashboards/reports post-production deployment.
  • Drive innovation within teams, by enhancing existing solutions and designing new ones.
  • Build collaboration and awareness in the global analytics/BI community.
  • Evangelize MetLife's best practices across teams, through adherence of FRDs, BRDs and Analytical Solutions

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

 

  • 1 to 3 yrs. of experience in the field of data and BI, preferred in the BFSI industry

 

Technological skills:

  • Hands-on working experience in visualization tools including Power BI and Cognos/Qlik
  • Experience in intermediate to advanced SQL and query optimization
  • Understanding of data models like Star Schema, Snowflake schema etc.
  • Prior experience of working in teams involving various data and visualization experts; experience in working with end users is a major plus.
  • Hands-on knowledge of ETL processes and frameworks
  • Strong communication – written and oral and structured problem-solving skills
  • Experience in Big Data technologies like Azure, AWS, Hadoop etc. preferred.
  • Experience in analyzing large and complex data sets, performing descriptive and inquisitive analytics.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience working in Insurance industry.
  • SAFe® for DevOps/ SAFe® for Teams certification
  • Knowledge in Data Science /Data Engineering/Data Governance
