Continuing with the tradition of innovation, MetLife, as part of its Data and Analytics function, has established a dedicated center for advanced analytics & research in India. The setup of Global Analytics and Research Center (GARC) a.k.a DnA Hyderabad is a key multi-year strategic initiative focused on scaling data governance, data architecture, data engineering, data science /machine learning/ artificial intelligence, visualization, techno-project management capabilities, enabling a more cost-effective analytics operating model, and increasing data and analytics maturity across the MetLife global community.

  • Driven by passion and purpose, we are looking for you, high performing ETL/data professional, to play a critical role in ETL validation and testing
  • The role will collaborate with development, business and BSA team to ensure adherence to MetLife’s standards and to follow best-in-class practices for ETL development. The role requires proficiency in concepts of SQL, HQL and hive, in addition to having strong knowledge in aspects of ETL testing and team management  

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop test plan, test strategies, test scenarios and execute test case as per requirements
  • Create connection for source and target
  • Create query pairs in QuerySurge
  • Develop automation scripts using QuerySurge
  • Co-ordinate between multiple applications (development, QA team)
  • Creation of test data request by understanding requirements
  • Perform peer review with other team members
  • Training of QuerySurge to new members in the team
  • Raise risks/issues in scrum meetings if any

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ Engineering

 

  • 3-6+ years of relevant experience in software and data testing
  • Strong knowledge in ETL testing using Big Data/DWH
  • Core hands on testing skills in Bigdata ecosystem i.e., Hbase, hive, Solar
  • Good knowledge of test data management process and test management tools like QC/ALM and Qtest
  • Working knowledge of FRD, BRD, mapping documents based on requirements
  • Understanding of Agile methodology
  • Working knowledge of Azure devops boards and JIRA
  • Strong knowledge on complex queries such as SQL, HQL
  • Knowledge of unix commands
  • Knowledge of QuerySurge
  • Knowledge of Putty and IBM data studio
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio and Access required
  • Any other technical certification is a plus

 

 

General management, engagement, and project management skills:

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to ideate, consult and propose efficient solutions to meet/exceed requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a timely, proactive, and entrepreneurial manner
  • Agile project management methodologies

 

Preferred:

  • Strong communication skills to lead interactions with business and technology leaders across the global lines of businesses
  • Basic knowledge of Gramlin queries
  • Working experience in Insurance industry
  • Knowledge of Python and Selenium webdriver
  • Experience working in cross-functional, multi-location teams
