In this role, you will guide end-users through the discovery, requirements, design and testing phases of a new system or functionality. This role provides all customers with the best possible solutions to utilize the specific systems, roll out new functionality, identify potential process improvements, troubleshoot problems, and provide user support, you will be working on a few of the most exciting group business applications, collaborating and interfacing with partners to deliver on enterprise-level strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead discovery sessions to observe, document, and validate business processes and capture key insights.
  • Agile Sprint planning, including estimation, user story breakdown, user story review & feedback
  • Elicit, analyze, document functional requirements and rules. Participate in the backlog prioritization/refinement
  • Create user stories and wireframes to conceptualize future states for user experience, new or enhanced services, and business cases for products or features. Define acceptance criteria.
  • Lead and partner across MetLife business & development teams to create end to end functional solutions. 
  • Lead and participate in fit-gap analysis of requirements, help manage user expectations and provide options, develop & peer review functional designs
  • Mentor, motivate, influence, drive innovation and coach within and across Agile Release Trains
  • Work effectively in a matrixed organization to diagnose issues, solve problems, and deliver solutions
  • As needed, troubleshoot operational & production support issues, and perform root cause analysis
  • Facilitate feature/user story walkthroughs and respond to Test team ambiguity review questions
  • Work closely with Project Manager, architects, developers, Test team, business users/BAs and applicable outside entities (vendors and others)
  • Lead operational and production support with ability to troubleshoot issues and perform root cause analysis in the business workflow and processes on a variety of production and application issues.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:  

 

Required:  

  • 5+ years’ experience in Software Development and strong functional design / business analysis experience with designing enterprise scale applications
  • Expertise in functional requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation
  • Experience breaking down complex problems, and doing process analysis using variety of tools
  • Experience in working with product owners and development leads to breakdown solutions into epics, user stories and spikes – driving best practices and ensuring inclusion of non-functional design requirements.
  • Experience with agile, iterative and waterfall methodologies, and tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps
  • Experience creating data mapping artifacts for API's
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with focused attention to details, as well as demonstrated professionalism and time/task management skills; ability to establish strong relationships. 

 

Preferred:

  • 7+ years’ experience in Software Development and strong functional design / business analysis experience with designing enterprise scale applications
  • Experience with backlog grooming and helping teams estimate user stories
  • Experience in the Group benefits industry
  • SAFe Certified
