Role Value Proposition:

The Global Technology & Operations group (GTO) is a diverse team of engineers, developers, business analysts, and project managers with the freedom to create innovative solutions to address core business challenges within MetLife. GTO’s strategy is to deliver a differentiated customer experience and increase MetLife’s operating leverage.

This role will manage project quality assurance efforts potentially across multiple products, projects, countries and applications. Ensure quality control of project output and applications. Collaborate with project teams to define Test Strategy and build project Test Plans. Have experience in Agile and DevOps methodologies and in traditional Waterfall Project methodology. Can work collaboratively with UAT Test Management to deliver overall product quality.


Key Relationships:

Reports to: Application Maintenance & Support Manager

Indirect Reports: 0-8 (FTC)

Key Stakeholders: AMS, Software Engineering, IT Project Managers, Business System Analysts, country CIOs across EMEA region


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end to end Quality Assurance engagement for Large Projects, spanning multiple platforms and technologies
  • Management of all QA-related activities, including estimation, planning, and status reporting
  • Exhibit strong knowledge of modern software testing practices, and competency in leveraging same
  • Manage external Test Vendors throughout the Project Life Cycle to ensure quality outcomes
  • Validate the work of other quality assurance roles to ensure properly designed test cases and application of appropriate and efficient test analysis, design, and coverage
  • Exhibit working knowledge in areas of focus to include: test automation, test data management, test management, performance and security testing
  • Defect trend analysis and root cause analysis
  • Drive and recommend optimal testing strategies for various applications
  • Facilitate a smooth transition of projects into Production environment


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor s Degree (Level 8) (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering
  • 7 + years related work experience
  • 3 + years’ experience in one or more of the following: Net, Java / J2EE, C#, AS/400, DB2, MS SQL
  • MS Office: Word, Excel, Power Point and Access
