We are looking for PMO Specialist, IT Demand Capacity Management Lead  who will join our new MetLife Global Technology Campus in Galway, Ireland. The EMEA Resource & Capacity Planning Manager role fits within MetLife’s Global Technology Services (GTS) function, which provides Project & Program Methodology (PPM), Portfolio Planning & Management (PPM). IT Costing & Performance Management (ITCPM), Vendor Management (VMO) and Technology Strategy services across EMEA.

Specifically, this role supports the implementation of EMEA wide IT Demand & Resource management practices including definition of governance standards, tools, processes and metrics. It ensures Resource Demand is accurately forecasted and represented across the entire EMEA IT Portfolio, helping ensure successful execution via various delivery partners - in particular the EMEA Global Technology Centre (GTC, Galway), where the role will be based.

The candidate will be expected construct value adding MI, allowing Countries and delivery partners to optimize capacity management ensuring effective use of resource and investment

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

Resource & Capacity Management: Demand

  • Responsible for the collation of EMEA Demand (to fulfil EMEA Discretionary Portfolio) through the creation, deployment and adoption of an efficient, effective and consolidated demand capture and review process
  • EMEA SME on demand capture tools, processes and support - ensuring local support needs for information and guidance are met in a prompt and accurate manner
  • Establishes strong working relationships with Regional, Country IT Leads and Local Country PMs whilst providing support on accurate demand forecasting
  • Works with and advises Countries to ensure demand is level loaded (annually) and flexes within an agreed tolerance threshold
  • Where appropriate, provides objective and constructive challenge and fundamental error checking for forecast Country demand - increasing in quality as the role and processes progress along the maturity curve
  • Ensures any changes to agreed Demand are managed according to formal change/scope management processes (to be confirmed)
  • Collates of demand into a single repository (currently, Clarity MPPM,  MetLife’s enterprise Project Management Enterprise repository)
  • Ensures demand capture process is documented, transparent and accessible across EMEA
  • Has basic knowledge of the Project/Programs within a Sub Regional IT Portfolio to be able to overlay a practical understanding  of Demand (with no direct delivery responsibilities)

 

 Resource & Capacity Management: Capacity Planning and Supply

  • Establishes strong working relationships with GTC capacity planning (supply) function to facilitate efficient supply vs demand resource management and reporting
  • Ensures Demand from EMEA Countries feeds GTC (Galway) capacity planning processes
  • Facilitates the ability to segment demand by requirement, role, skillset and priority

 

Other

  • Contributes to ad hoc Executive Demand/Resource Management MI needs
  • Contributes to a value adding and transparent EMEA GTS team

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No direct supervisory responsibilities (however, will act as support for Local Country PMs)

 

Management Information, Process and Governance

  • Chairs fortnightly/monthly Demand overview meetings with Executive Level stakeholders (GTC & Regional Leads) to provide overview and in depth analysis (where required) of Country Demand
  • Creation of appropriate and relevant MI (in the form of reports and MI) highlighting key demand metrics including Overall Demand by Month, Qtr. and Annually and Demand Variance/Change Dashboards
  • Ensures any new joiners (in Country) are fully on boarded from a Demand Management perspective
  • Works to understand trends and improvements with regards to Country Demand in the form of consolidation resourcing opportunities and accuracy of forecasted demand
  • Establishes strong working relationship with EMEA Project Financials (PeopleSoft) function to understand accuracy of demand in light of actuals and forecasts (variance)

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of IT and business/industry work experience, with at least 3 years in portfolio/resource management or managing projects
  • Highly proficient in data manipulation (MS Excel) and presentation (MS PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (English)

 

Preferred:

  • International stakeholder experience desired
  • Project Management certification desired
