MetLife opened a new Global Technology Campus in Galway, Ireland in 2017, which will have more than 200 employees. MetLife is seeking a strong IT finance manager to manage and control EMEA IT financials and to ensure financial transparency in the Region.  The IT finance manager will be part of EMEA Global Technology Services organisation (Technology) and will be responsible for coordination of annual budget planning process, monthly monitoring of budget execution, variance analysis, forecasting and reporting to EMEA Technology and GTO Management. They will also work closely with the Finance function and business partners to define and manage processes and standards for financial management within IT organization (budget templates, annual planning, savings monitoring, etc.). There is a very strong finance business partner aspect to the role, working with EMEA technology organisation leaders and Global Technology function leads.



Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide insightful management information to the IT Leadership team in relation to EMEA Technology IT Expenditure.  
  • Coordinate annual budget planning activities with countries, regional cost center owners and Global Technology functions supporting EMEA in line with MetLife annual planning calendar.
  • Prepare annual (3 year view) budget executive summary with supporting details for EMEA Technology IT expenditure ensuring alignment with the overall enterprise agreed deadlines.
  • Monitor EMEA IT budget execution on a monthly basis, tracking of actual spend against budget, variance analysis, forecasting and reporting.
  • Provide finance business partnering support to country and regional technology organisation leaders.
  • Creating required reports to support tracking of saving initiatives, business cases, related expenditure, benefits and incentives.
  • Set-up, manage and maintain procedures for IT financial management working with Technology leadership and the Finance team including implementation of costs allocations to IT functions and services.
  • Support a disciplined approach to financial management for the Region.
  • Implement continuous optimization of IT expenditure in the Region including monitoring of key financial KPIs and external benchmarking.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:



  • Qualified accountant with a minimum 5 years qualification experience (ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
  • Strong analytical and numerical ability with previous experience of working in a multinational environment.
  • Advanced Excel Skills required, along with financial modelling experience and financial management reporting using enterprise financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent presentation skills are essential as you will be providing executive level presentations on IT financials to a wide variety of senior stakeholders within IT and Business.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential as you will be liaising with a wide variety of stakeholders in different departments across MetLife.



  • Previous experience in IT Financial Management role or experience supporting an IT function with another multinational company.
  • Transfer Pricing exposure.
