MetLife is part of the API economy and is using APIs internally and externally to provide a state of the art digital experience to serve our customers.  This position is a Lead BSA on the US API team.  The position will select and define the APIs needed for MetLife project.  The position will also lead the process to design the APIs.

 

Key Relationships:

Reports to: Manager – Insurance Shared Services

Direct Reports: 0

Other Key Stakeholders: US API and Integration Leader, US Document Generation Leader, IT QA, Enterprise Architecture, and IT Operations, Group business project teams.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Specify and Model Use Case Requirements
  • Confirm Elicitation Results
  • Track Acceptance and Communicate Approval
  • Collaborate with Provider on Service Design
  • Execute Use Case Approval Meeting
  • Elicit, document and manage functional/ technical requirements and rules.
  • Facilitate functional requirements walkthroughs and respond to Test team ambiguity review questions.
  • Design use cases, functional specifications, reports screen prototypes.  Review test cases
  • Work closely with Project Managers, developers, Test team, business users/BAs and may interact with architects.
  • Contribute to user guides, reference manuals, training materials and code release artifacts as appropriate.
  • Become domain expert in understanding of Data requirements for both API’s and Correspondence space
  • Understand Mapping tools and process /Data that support API/Correspondence space
  • Become a Data Specialist
  • You will support the eOPS suite of Correspondence generation tools and will perform the following functions – development of functional requirements, design documents and contribute to project estimation, analysis, and user guides.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Business Knowledge/Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Level 8) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field, or equivalent work experience.

 

Required:

  • At least 10 years’ experience in Information Technology.
  • At least 8 years’ experience in an AGILE & Dev Ops Methodology environment
  • At least 8 years’ experience MS Excel
  • At least 5 years’ experience writing use cases
  • At least 5 years of experience with XML – 1.  At least 5 years of experience with XML - 1
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work on multiple medium to small scale projects in parallel
  • Demonstrated analytical and In-depth problem solving skills

                                                

Preferred:

  • At least 4 years of experience with data modeling
  • At least 2 different employers in the past 10 years
  • At least 2 years’ experience Blue Print
  • At least 2 years’ experience UML diagrams
  • A working understanding of APIs
  • A working understanding of Service Oriented Architecture
  • BSA certification
